Apparently WoW wants to know how involved you are with RP. They posted a poll on X (formerly Twitter) 5 hours ago. Go tell them!
Editing to add:
I’m sure the poll has to do with Blizz making the decision to close Lava Lash and send the PvE-RPers to either an RP-PvP realm or a regular PVE realm. There’s a post about it here:
So before they get it in their heads that there are not enough RPers anywhere else, I feel like we should spam this poll, comment on the thread even if we’re not on LL and make sure that Blizz knows how involved we are.
I hope this is not the build up to an Wyrmrest Accord and Moon Guard merge. While it would definitely combine the major RP realms into one, I think it would be crazy for a bit, for a lack of better words.
Interesting they’re taking an interest in the RP Community though! Good to see at least!
Name clashing would be the biggest problem. Every guild on MG has an WRA equivalent.
Priority of the name would likely go to whomever has it the longest, the most players, or the most achieves, hard to say exactly which in that battle if not all 3 requirements.
Not to mention name hoarding would be impossible.
And because of the attention it gets, goldshire would either be sharded or crash.
I doubt MG is going to be involved in a server merge. It’s already pretty high population, not exactly a target or a destination server unless they also plan on significantly upping the maximum capacity.
In a way the toxicity unfortunately exists already on MG, anytime there’s a guild someone else creates a duplicate with either “The” at the front or uses special letters in the name.
One guild may recruit by interviews, the other by using addons to spam invites.
I had the forethought to make my mains names on both servers. I have the same named guild on both servers as well. And I’m keeping it that way because you never know with Blizz.
I anticipate that when we’re doing cross-realm guilds, this might be taken care of with some kind of “Kirsy-Wra” or “Kirsy-MG” tag.
They did the same poll on Youtube. It is just a poll done by the CM’s for fun to engage with people and has no bearing on what choices are made in game. Those kind of polls are sent directly to players, like voting on tier sets this season, or polls with questions about the next expansion of Classic.
I mean, WRA was built from MG toxicity. I remember when WRA was formed, the people who hated MG went there to find a new place to rp. Christie Golden got her start there as an RPer as well. A lot of people hated on her and WRA for that.
If they do merge, I imagine a lot of people will just find a new server, like Argent Dawn or something. The server cultures are too different now from how I’ve come to see it. And, honestly, with cross-realm guild recruitment coming, it won’t really matter anymore what server you’re on anymore. It’s just an extra step to get anchored.
I’m mostly rare at times but I have been mostly been focused more on PVE and sometimes PVP than RP in general in wow. But I did enjoy my time with the people around the RP making the World feel alive again in alively cities, towns, and etc that were ghost towns on the other servers.
I mean people from WRA fled to MG during Shadowlands and have sort of migrated that toxicity there. They haven’t gone back to WRA at least for Alliance side.
I hope they don’t mess up the cross faction guilds like they did with cross server trading. Would have been nice.
Nowadays, not at all. Slowly but surely my social side kinda died out and to add to that I have a massive creative block, I just keep staring at the word document thinking about what can I write for a backstory and when I finally write something up, I read it and I just feel disappointed and delete it only to start over again.
