How far are we really off the last wow expansion?

On their supposed current roadmap ill be in my mid 40’s when the last expansion drops & i cant see myself gaming too much at that age.

There’s no way to really tell that since WoW isn’t much younger than the internet.

The only thing to go on is EQ. It’ll be 24 this year and I think they still put out updates for it. I image WoW will be the same way one day. The servers will shrink, xpacs will look like patches and it might change ownership a few times.

They’ll keep milking this cow as long as it keeps making money :woman_shrugging: The only thing that will truly kill it would be whomever owns WoW at the time shutting it down because it’s not worth it to keep up.

The forums aren’t a good representation of the game. It’s a small % of players who are vocal and usually upset.

They give us less and less every expansion since legion, they didn’t even try this time … DF is just so bad reminds me of WoD but worse because there’s not even a garrison or mission table. DF is the last WoW expansion as far as I’m concerned. I just don’t think they care about making anything good anymore they just want it to look like it’s good and take our money.

A long way. Look at everquest. Its still pumping out expansions.

I suspect eventually wow will mirror EQs model

the MBA grads at Blizzard don’t care about if the game has run it’s course. They’re going to find a way to keep it going. How many seasons did Gray’s Anatomy have? The Walking Dead?

WOW needs a real hard reset. we got to go back to lower power levels.

Its a nixxiom video, so I have really nothing to gain from watching it or listening to his criticism. Expansion seems fine so far, its absolutely passable as a wow expansion/experience compared to previous ones.

The infinite grind is gone, now I just play whatever characters I want and do what I want in game, its really fun.

My person, you haven’t really engaged with the end game at all. Maybe the end game isn’t for you, and that’s fine, but if you reject the content I’m not sure what to yell you. It’s certainly not a lack of things to do, it’s just things you don’t want to do.

I don’t think the game is dying not by a long shot now granted since Battle for Azeroth and of course Shadow lands being mostly flops when Dragon flight released folks were a little bit more cautious in purchasing this expansion due to the last 2. Is it a step in the right direction yes in ways it is but it’ll take more work and time before most folks return to they game like blizzard has to earn the respect of it’s players back. Also the whole Court Case thing didn’t help them much either.

It’s Nixxiom, so half the video will just be him reading comments on his own videos and Twitter replies to his own tweets.

There is no rational reason to think we are anywhere close to the “last wow expansion”.

Nothing will ever turn into what it used to be because time travel is fiction, people are older, and newer generations of gamers aren’t nearly as interest in mmos as they used to be. Sorta like with RTS. That whole genre is almost dead. Blizz will never make another RTS because it’s nearly dead.

It’s a good game. Enjoying the game, guys.

Using the infallible oracular powers of the Magic 8-Ball, the answer is:

“My sources say no.”

Ah, well. A free oracle is worth what you pay for it.

Thanks to Elon Musk I’ve already duplicated and uploaded my conscious to all Battlenet programs so I AM IMMORTAL

on [August 29],. Battlenet becomes self-aware at 02:14 am Eastern Time after its activation on [August 4, 2027] and launches nuclear missiles at Russia to incite a counterattack against the humans who, in a panic, tried to disconnect it.

Can honestly see them going away from expansions every two years, and just giving this game small content patches once in a blue moon. Maintenance mode deal. And maybe work, or concentrate on other projects.

WoW may live to be in its 40s at this point. Even everquest is getting new expansions and that game is awful.

You joke but that’s where it’s all heading (lol)…with Neuralink and others jumping on brain interfacing and other tech running AI programs, soon it’ll come together and we’ll have a ghost in the shell experience, where we do away with the body but keep the brain functioning.

I’d say in the next 100 years that fully functioning human/cyborg hybrids will be a real thing.

Nowhere close.

They’re still grabbing money hand over fist with WoW.

They still update Everquest and Final Fantasy 11.

Final Fantasy 11 still has a sub too lol.
