How does your character feel about peace between the Alliance and the Horde?

Now that the Horde and Alliance are going into another expansion together and WoW having cross faction play and potentially cross faction guilds by the end of DF, it looks like peace is here to stay.

How does your character feel about it? Particularly the races that have been impacted by major lore events as of recent. Is your character happy with peace or are they wanting more war? I’m interested to hear where your character stands and why.

MOST of my characters are either entirely indifferent or view it as a boon to their particular business or affairs. Yesterday’s enemies are today’s allies, and all.

"Finally you mortals come to your senses." *shakes head, then goes back to sipping tea*

Although IC he isn’t anywhere on Azeroth atm… or any time in the foreseeable future (due to OOC reasons sadly), so he won’t get to witness said peace firsthand; most likely he’ll just get letters from friends detailing what is going on in snippets.

Saria hates it. Over the years her hatred for the Alliance has grown and the war was a good outlet too feed her addiction for death and misery of others. Lor’thamar being more kind to high elves to be allowed in Silvermoon (A bit of head conon) isn’t helping matters either. Horde allowing the Alliance unopposed in Ogrimmar was the straw that broke her back now she is more withdrawn from the Horde and the fact she was loyal to Sylvanas makes her feel more like an outsider than ever.

The 3 (or is it 5) year time skip isn’t going to be kind to her. She’ll be spending most of time isolated in her family manor struggling with her thirst to kill.

The Horde have broken our peace treaties before. Why will this time be any different? Let’s not forget that these are the same brutal oppressors who have committed three genocides in the span of ten years.

Sylvanas’ systemic attempt to exterminate the Gilneans using an illegal Bio-weapon.

The many atrocities committed by the Horde during the Pandarian war, in their attempt to wipe out all non-orcish life.

And last but certainly not least, killing the majority of the Kaldorei population in Teldrassil.

The Horde should not be forgiven. They have broken treaties, acted in bad faith, used biological warfare. These people need to be crushed and broken and

-s u b o r d i n a t e- so they may never threaten the Alliance again.

For this reason, Fëanor support’s Turalyon’s hard-handed stance against the Horde. Reclaiming lost Alliance territory is high on his priority list. Stromgarde was first, Gilneas is next. Then he wants Lordaeron -ALL- of Lordaeron back for the Alliance. Alterac, and Quel’Thalas. Now, he knows it’s not that easy. He’s a die-hard supporter of his people first and last, so he knows the Quel’dorei cannot simply spend the rest of their days in war. They need time to rest and recover and hopefully raise the next generation. But he does not expect this peace to last. At all. And the Horde will be the ones to break it. You just Watch.

My two mains are Henry and Mor’ell.

Henry does not like the Horde. Until Gilneas has been taken back he is not fond of the idea of peace. The Horde took much from him and if they truly wanted peace then they need to show it.

Mor’ell is pretty peaceful already, just a friendly troll man. He’s definitely in favour of peace and he hopes one day the Horde and Alliance can maybe even be friends!

Ven’s moderately annoyed by the peace between the two factions, but also thankful for it. It means he doesn’t have to go to war or kill blood elves on sight. But, on the flipside, it means that he can’t hunt trolls anymore. Which was his main profession as a Farstrider. It was the only thing that made him think “Maybe joining the Alliance again won’t be so bad.”

Akarrosh, my orc, is thankful for it. As an AU orc, he’s tired of war and just wants to rest and work on his blacksmithing.

From a character perspective, Gibet is feeling that the Forsaken could easily be abandoned by both the horde and alliance. I kind of makes sense given what has happened. So even a ‘peace’ will be extremely uneasy when it comes to the Forsaken.

I would love to see the Alliance get smacked with the villain bat after DF with throngs to scarlets now patrolling Stormwind making sure the populace follows the new fanaticism.

Guessing Lordaeron would be a prime first strike given that the Forsaken has made a great impression with Gilneas as well as the Scarlets being all emo in the countryside.

Would be neat to even have a curfew where in order to be out at night in Stormwind you have to avoid the scarlet patrols.

That could be a way for Anduin to resurface and stop moping about and set things right with the Alliance. Maybe even asking the horde to provide the army to retake Stormwind. The alliance could choose to fight with Anduin and the Horde or side with the Scarlets.

As a denizen of the Shadowlands, I am completely indifferent to your faction war…

Arkeric enlisted with the Alliance after watching the Horde set Stormsong Valley ablaze. He will be glad when they’re all put to the sword, or at the very least crippled to the point they can no longer threaten the lives of Alliance citizens.

OOC? The roleplay potential is off the charts!

Bhemarg’s loyalty is first and foremost to the Horde. Anything, or anyone, that threatens it is his enemy. So long as there is peace, he will abide by it. That being said, he will miss fighting against the Alliance and engaging in glorious battle and conquest. But that’s what being a mercenary is for. But he is very skeptical about the ‘peace’, for war, war never changes. Sooner or later, he imagines the Horde and Alliance will be pulled back into the throes of war. And when that day comes, he will be the first to jump into the fray, axe raised and smiling. Lok’tar ogar!

Brother Duskworthe is happy with peace. But he understands - given the Horde’s track record - it’s a precarious peace. And as such, he’s still vigilant.

Peace, you say? There can be no peace so long as my Sin’dorei cousins continue to debase our lineage by speaking the tongue of the Orc savages.

I think once you realize there is more than just the playable Alliance and Horde races in the world, you will realize how small and insignificant those politics are. The game, books, etc. have so many instances of the different races co-mingling (not just the playable ones) and where they are so far removed from the action it doesn’t matter.

Honestly, at this point, any person that wants to dig in their heels about how bad a group of people is based on just a race or assumed political alignment because of the said race just drinking the kool-aid.

I don’t say this to even remotely suggest people should or would go around expecting everyone to get along. But mass labeling is just silly at this point. It also isn’t even the first time we worked together. Am I the only one that remembered the glory of Shattrath? And we didn’t even have tongues potions to really enjoy it like now.

Until the Horde ransacked Brennadam, Jerec’s problem wasn’t necessarily the Horde, but rather a deep hatred of the orcs and trolls. He thinks both races are inherently aggressive and that will never change. He will never trust those that sided with the Horde after Brennadam, but cultures like the Tauren and Sin’dorei are ones that a neutrality and coexistence can be found.

He’s just never going to change with orcs and trolls. The orcs are like a virus that spread from an open wound on the land, and once that wound had been closed, the virus should have been exterminated. However, he understand that these days he has to bite his tongue on that feeling and put his best foot forward as the Lord Admiral has done. If he isn’t capable of that, then it would be time to retire.

OOC I hope to have a lot of fun this expansion as I am feeling it will be my last if not second to last. I totally understand why they are going to do cross faction guilds, but I also feel like where it is going to lead them in the story of the world isn’t going to be a place I am interested in anymore. I grew up playing the RTS, I like the world where the orcs and humans are fighting and it is why I played WoW. Not saying the game sucks, I actually feel the best game wise about the game in years. Just saying there will be other worlds that will likely interest me more.

All of my characters absolutely hate it;

Quincy couldn’t stand it when the Sin’dorei allied with the Horde in the first place, and had no trust in Sylvanas after seeing one too many hypocritical actions. Losing family to the Amani made allying with the Darkspear uneasy, even if they were a different group.
The mind control shenanigans in Silvermoon were also something else, and the fact Lor’themar even allowed that in the first place soured their opinion on what Quel’thalas has become.

Theramore was actually the line for them, but they couldn’t say or do much to defect on their own because of fel corruption making it almost impossible to blend in with Quel’dorei, so they just conspired with other wanna-be defectors until actually getting a chance to formally leave with Umbric’s group after the… accident.

Rejoining the modern Alliance, not the one they originally knew, made them realize even more how big of a mistake Quel’thalas being allied with the Horde is; even as something afflicted with the void, they’re able to prove that no, they’re not some sort of monster, and that they have a place without needing to continually brutalize former allies that had nothing to do with Garithos or Lordaeron’s betrayals.

If they’re going to be a cog in a war machine, they’re not going to be a tool of blood for the sake of thunder. Retreat is an option if victory isn’t at hand, and you don’t forsake your former allies and students for the same people that put you in a horrible situation to begin with.

If Silvermoon is ever a target, they’ll be demanding to help command troops on the field so they can take their home back from an appointed tyrant that continually divides their people, and a group that’s caused pain and suffering for even their own.

OOCly, slapping the other side right after you both helped each other is the most Warcraft thing possible, so I’ll be raiding and doing M+ with my buddies, then ganking them right after because it’s funny and a part of the spirit of the game.
Telling people that this isn’t so is just ignorance to what the game actually is, and it’s been annoying since day 1.

Telindron would be slightly conflicted. On one hand, he would be dismayed that there he cannot continue to butcher the lesser races to his heart’s content. But on the other, peace means a better opportunity to rebuild Quel’thalas without having to send more soldiers to yet another war. But he would be willing to bet gold that the chance to kill more humans will be coming along eventually, the elves have time on their side.

He’s enjoying the peace knowing that the next war is close by. To him this is a time to travel and possibly find some new contacts among what the Alliance told were his enemies.
