How does wow still not have a dps meter in game?

this game has been out for 20 years and there is still no damage meter built in game? Been playing tarisland and their dps meter is amazing. Cmon blizz get with the times.

Why do you need a damage meter? Personally I think an altimeter would be more useful.

Because whenever bliz add anything to the game that was previously an add-on it comes with drastically reduced features and customisability. Like you call it a damage meter but it also tracks, CCs, kicks, healing, death logs, enemy damage, dispels, basically everything the combat log can see.

Cause they don’t have any reason to ,Players provided the solution a long time ago.

For sure. Even after all of this time, the in-game UI editor still can’t do everything bartender can. I’m sure that a DPS meter would similarly leave out a lot of important information.

Cuz then you’ll end up getting into those raids or dungeons with that one player who always tops the charts by a long shot and after every single pull they will stop for a second and be like “Im not even trying.”

frankly, because addons exist.
Why improve their own UI when the community does it for them?

It’s the Bethesda approach to game design, why fix your game when the community fixes it for you?

imo blizz just needs to provide an official place to download addons, either in the battlenet app, or in game.

More importantly, they maintain it also.

Because it will spark toxicity.

You’d be surprised by the numbers of players who don’t use a damage meter.

Never understood why people want blizzard to implement a feature that has already been solved by players. I’d rather blizzard worry about doing stuff the players can’t.

Otherwise, time is being wasted

Are you implying that the people currently not using dps meters are toxic?

For example, adjusting multiple action bars for Druids when you shapeshift.

Damage meters are elitist

Nah. Damage meters are just neutral data that have a lot of beneficial uses. Players just misuse it when being elitest…but sometimes it’s necessary.

Naw brah damage meters are toxic and elitist

So, if your group is failing to beat enrage timers or DPS checks, how would you suggest fixing the issue without DPS meters?

Sounds like a issue for the raid leader. Not toxic elitist damage meters. Listen dude your ego will be fine with out the toxic damage meters. Dont worry there are plenty of other ways to stroke that toxic ego of yours

So you have no solution to the scenario I presented. lol. Fancy.

This is the perfect example of why I’m glad Blizz ignores us most of the time.

How about checking the Deaths first and then whining about damage?

I think a lot of players either still don’t realize it tracks other things or don’t care.

I asked a Mage once why he only had 1 interrupt the whole dungeon and he said he probably had the most in the group and I was just guessing… I linked it and someone said “oh I thought that only did dps.”
