Brewmaster or Blood DK might be the best suited to survive being outnumbered, but yeah mage is good at being slippery, because they need to.
Mage mobility has needed to be checked for a long time. Warrior needs to immediately follow.

I murder brewmasters quicker then I murder mages, and mages are doing x10 the damage of both of these classes, maybe mage should have a 60% damage taken modifier and then itll be allowed to have its damage.
I dont play mage much at the moment. I dont think they are under or over perfoming much in BGs, although their area denials and CC tool kit is one of the best.

Mage kills you if they can maintain uptime while running away, and you follow them, and you dont get smart and stay with your healer.
Fury warrior kills you because you are looking at anyone else and they have 1.8seconds of quality time with your back side. Comparing the two is silly, mage doesnt have Fury burst. But doesnât need it to be effective.
Mage over takes fury in pve at 9 seconds on sims. Mage does the same damage moving fury loses most of its damage while being out of melee range. Frost mage can out turret a mm hunter currently.
It is the strongest mobility damage and burst in the game with frost bomb ray ice lance goes, while having the most passive defenses (shields) and reactive defenses.

I wanna see a mage kite an uhdk/fury combo, even if the mage has team support granting freedoms and peel, if the dk/war combo never overlap gap openers the mage has no shot of outtrading mobility cds.

Riddle me this batman. If a mage is OP Vs Fury, why would a Fury pursue a mage solo? How did we get on this 1vs1 topic if 1v1 arena and 1v1 bgs dont exist? Its a team game, sure a Mage with support from a good team can do well, so can anyone else.
The mage just needs to trade defensives and they can 100% get away during mobility goes from both of those classes, while doing waaay more damage then both of them due to splitting ice and how frost orb works.
Everything you have said has been the mage being alone vs multiple other players. With same odds mage is always the better class vs anything else even in bgs.
Bit vague but mage will eventually run out of gap openers if the tsg trades properly, whether mage will die or not highly depends on which cds are left on both teams and dampening levels but generally mage should eventually reach a point where it can no longer kite. Forcing big cds.
Before this time im sure the mage has csâd the healer once and killed a dps with 1mil ice lances.
If weâre granting the tsg to never overlap any gap closer once, then we have to grant the mage team to be able to peel for the mage on every grip/charge.

Like i said, itâs highly dependant on factors and which comp the mage is running.
Assuming mage has no freedom on the team the dk chains /dnd 90% snare is brutal even if the tsg cant directly connect the gap will shorten over time as long as charge and grip are never used simultaneously, plus trading a grip into blade storm on the 2nd blink will force a major cd 90% of the time.

If the tsg is smart they can definitely screw the mage over.
That was my point. Yup mage is mobile. Yup mage has powerful tools to get away and survive. But the bg isnt won or lost because a mage may do well kiting melee. Once the mobility is spent mages are quite vulnerable. For months mages were on the forums complaining about being instantly dead if a MM saw them, surely while they are fighting someone, someone else might come by and squish them.
If we are not talking about group content it is a waste of time. Wow pvp isnt just duels
