How does the conquest point system work

So I am looking to buy the 2handed mace as soon as possible this season but I’m a little confused. So I earned my 1350 points this week and from what I understand the cap is going to go up by 550 points next week. Does this mean that I should spend all my points this week and then next week I will be able to earn another 1900 points. Or do I need to save my points to get the weapon next week.

The cap is a seasonal cap, not a weekly cap. It going up to 1900 means you can only get 550 more next week if you capped this week.
