The orcs coming together to renew an old tradition means their race was ran into the ground?
Itâs also worth noting that this isnât all the orcs in the game. Itâs just the ones that were considered to have enough plot power for players to go âoh yeah, I remember you!â
And it got several suggestions to bring that holiday into the game for players to celebrate. This thread is the first time Iâve seen anyone disappointed with the Orc heritage quests.
Trust me. Alliance story telling is not better at all. They looked like incompetent fools throughout BFA and SL
I was literally thinking this as the event was happening; that as a once a year RP thing itâd be a great addition. And Hell, you could do something like this for other races to represent their cultures; have a wine tasting ceremony for the nightborne, some kind of celebration of elune hosted by Tyrande, a big gambling festival for Goblins⊠there are so many things you could do for this.
Couldnât disagree more. Plenty of people were upset to see Volâjin go in the first place because he was horrifically underutilized even though he got plenty of characterization in novels. He had interesting if a bit clumsy character development. Having to decide between his people and the larger horde, between his tribe and trolls as a united race, struggling with having a positive relationship with a human.
Rezan is a well spoken T-Rex. Thatâs all heâs got.
The last time the Alliance did something not nice, they threw a fit so hard that the devs had to change a world quest.
This is mostly due to the story writing giving the Alliance all demigods.
When one side is all demigods and the other side is âim a pretty good warrior sometimesâ. You have to make the OP side randomly dumb so that they dont just exterminate the other.
Oh yeah I agree but even then thatâs just sloppy writing imo. The Horde got to burn down Teldrassil and mortally wound Malfurion and pretty much walk away with a huge W while the Alliance gets a Pyrrhic Victory for Lordaeron? It shouldâve been a slaughterfest
WoW gets all the bad story. Itâs not just horde or alliance.
Alliance doesnât have to be all goody two shoes. Could be more like the Imperium of Man, or the Cardassians, or to use an example from this very game, the Scarlet Crusade (minus the silly working-for-demons stuff).
I mean. Who was left to slaughter at Lordaeron?
The Horde laid like a million traps, and the Alliance was likeâŠâNo, I am gonna use my deus ex machina. but like over and over and overâ.
The Horde was slaughtered at Lordearon. Unless you are specifically asking for civilian casualties.
The writing was just set up to make the Horde look evil.
Personally, I think invading your enemyâs home territory. Having their base destroyed, and denying them access to a large area of land they formally controlled is more than a "pyrrhic " victory.
But my over all point is that until the Horde also gets their own demigods, the Alliance will always look stupid and incompetent. Because there is no other way around it.
Even by that standard though, it did not ring the same overall to me in the aftermath.
Teldrassil Burning
- Malfurion Mortally Wounded
- Teldrassil Burned by Sylvanas
- Horde gets to leave
Lordaeron
- Saurfang captured
- Lordaeron Plague Nuked by Sylvanas
- Horde gets to leave
To me that just doesnât hold the same weight. Especially seeing that the Horde got to leave while twirling their mustaches on a blimp. You said it yourself, our faction had to look stupid and incompetent because it would make the Horde feel bad. To me, that just sucks and doesnât feel good at all as an Alliance player.
Most of the player base is on horde, what does that say about the players?!
For good reasons. This pretty much confirmed no great Orc characters are left. They all died to villan batting or to raise the stakes. The Orc cast is nonextistend.
Rezan is the highest Loa of Zandalar. Volâjin is just a chieftain for the smallest tribe. Also he betrayed his race to the filthy Horde.
Life is fleeting. But there isnât no one left. Just no one left that you like.
He was a bit part in an expac and was taken over and corrupted very fast. Volâjin was not betrayed by the Darkspear. And the smallest tribe are the Dark Trolls not Darkspear.
Kargath, Grommash, Kilrogg, Doomhammer, the Blackhand family, Nerâzhul, Tagar, Fenris, Mogor, Durotan and Zuluhed. Those are the Orcs that actually matter. And they are all dead.
Those are only the ones that matter to you. Some of them that had very little time in the actual game.
Not my fault you are pleased with Blizzard giving you scraps and call it a feast.
