How Does Gladiator work now?

Where the elite achievement is in place, I haven’t really seen how to get the new gladiator or is it not in the game anymore?

You need to be at least 2370 and win 50 games above that, once you do you will unlock the gladiator achieve and the mount will be in the mail. If you tank a little, your wins don’t reset so don’t worry so much about that.

I heard some people say it was going to be % based again and no factions but I guess thats not it?

Nah, it’s staying 2400 + 50 wins, a lot of us are fans of the % based but tbh after seeing participation was actually the highest it’s been in years my mind has kind of changed in favor of the new system. I’m glad to see people PvPing again, I hope Blizzard can see it so they can build off balancing/adding new abilities so the game is even more fun again next expansion with Holinka doing class design.

At this point, the only thing I’d change MAYBE is up it to 2500 + 50 wins, the participation is a huge game changer for me because I used to want % based as well. After seeing the cutoffs and doing some math, participation is very high and it’s good for the game in general, hopefully it doesn’t die down anytime soon.

The math yesterday had these ratings as the glad cutoffs if it was still % based:
Rank 1 Alliance: 2858 (98 spots)
Rank 1 Horde: 2962 (161 spots)
Alliance: 2558 (490 spots)
Horde: 2684 (905 spots)

Granted, those would have jumped up 100 points by monday, the numbers are still fairly close for 2400 + 50 wins, especially if they bumped it to 2500 + 50 wins. In legion, there were roughly 150 spots tops Alliance for Gladiator, so rank 1 has 50 less than Gladiator did last season.

Sorry to Necro this thread. I would just like to clarify my understanding of the new system as I havent pushed for rating since MoP as my Arena partners all left the game :frowning:

Aslong as I get 2400+ 50 wins I should immediately get the Title, mount in the mail right? Is the Gladiator Title permanent? Im getting mixed messages from this as some people are saying 2400+50 wins gets you Gladiator for the season, but the top % gets to keep the title… You can see how I’m being confused from the information online.

I want to really push to get my first Glad title but it’d actually poop on my parade if its gone the next season LOL

Titles only stay during the current season, unless you finish in the top 0.1% for Rank 1 titles (2900+ last season). You of course get to keep the achievement and mount after the season ends though :stuck_out_tongue:

I think they should make gladiator+ mount 2700

Keep 2400 elite but make it have a reward like an even better elite mog like the old ones they did, and keep the newer ones at 1800

Maybe a 2550 achieve too? I think more incremental steps would be better, because after 2400 what can players strive for because most wont even get close to r1

Good to see a injection of life into PvP it was long needed and I like what Blizzard has done myself.

I think the changes were a positive thing. Yeah people are still complaining about end of season and feeling like there’s nothing to do if you can’t push rank 1… but guess what pilots no longer steal gladiator spots from people who legitimately earned them fairly. That fact alone was worth the change imo.

The ladder was also significantly more active because people could earn rewards right away, and I know a lot of players who started pushing alts as soon as they got gladiator on their mains. A large portion of players who got glad would also relax and play with friends who were lower rated instead of just sitting until end of season.
