I haven’t played in a while and I’m having a hard time finding out if PvP templates are still a thing or do stats matter again?
stats matter, there is no templates anymore, there are vendors again at max level to spend honor and conquest basically speaking

I would not bother with honor gear at first. Get your covenant story quests done and renown up to 22. You can buy covenant armour that upgrades to 197, then use honor gear for the trinkets and any missing slots.
Always choose gear with versitility.
Then earn conquest and buy conquest gear that you upgrade with honor. It is rating gated so, starting at 1400 your ilvl ceiling starts to go up (200=> 207)

i did like 5 chars only gear thru pvp if u get 15k honor while leveling 50-60 ull be 160 when u hit max. Then u can spam bgs more but youll be totally useless and people will hate u but i do it anyway to 197. Then u can do arena or rated Bg’s and upgrade that way
Gearing is pretty simple. You go get a second job, funnel all that extra cash into wow tokens to fill blizzards rich boomer pockets, then take that gold and funnel it to R1 glads to carry you as they constantly proclaim “Bro I’m just coaching viewers” while they take 230ilvl into a 1300 MMR match and proceed to Chris Brown the holy hell out of anyone trying to gear normally.

one night i bought like 5 wow tokens trying to gear an alt bought out all the over 200ilvl boe gear i could afford slot wise. Worked well to get me over the hump in reality. It was a massive waste of hard earned money but i mean in the moment it was worth not spending an entire week doing worthless stuff and getting to jump into what i actually want to do.
Filled the off pieces with conquest and honor gear and spent a couple days upgrading them and was good to go until my first weekly vault. Cut a bunch of time but again if you actually have time to spend its a massive waste of money lol.
Why didn’t you just buy a boost? Why buy 200ilvl boes when R1 glads will sell you 220ilvl rival gear for cheaper. If you’re gonna scumlord, at least scumlord correctly…
You get smashed into bits in BGs until you are 197, then pay some Glads who will gladly boost and carry you to your desired rating for Tokens.
Then you come on the forums and bash people with lower ilvl and tell them how amazing and awesome you are and how getting rating was so easy for you and pvp is at its best ever!
