My only rule in this game is never to report anyone in game or on the forums. No matter how vile or trollish. Everyone should follow that rule.
Just flag it as something, I do it all the time to people who disagree with me. Which is definitely the mature response to a counter opinion
There are a group of people who keep calling me a troll because I dare to disagree with them (despite me backing up my point with in game lore and logical arguments).
You? I find your posts most comical. They always catch me off guard and I laugh out loud like a crazy person. Usually in an inappropriate setting were I shouldnât have been using my phone to browse the forums in the first place.
I do like to joke a lot, but there are also some threads where I see information and opinions I do not agree with a like to make sure they know that I do not agree with them. I will never rest as long as someone, somewhere, is posting stuff on the internet that I disagree with!
I feel threatened by this thread.
How I can report this?
Iâve seen posts with literal profane (misspelled of course to evade filters) and vile harassment remain untouched for 6-8 hours. So, sometimes things call for a more drastic course of action.
Go to the post you find offensive, click the icon over there that looks like a chain link. Copy that, tweet it @warcraftdevs. Someone will be forced to take notice. Itâs extreme, but if you feel the person youâre talking about is truly bad and nothing is being done about it, go for it.
I was thinking this guy sounds an awful lot like that guy.
I think this may stem from an incident in the Classic general discussion section.
Thatâs what a troll is in todays standards, someone who has a different opinion or states a fact that someone else doesnât believe.
So by todays standards you are, in fact, a troll.
gg
I see your point & in truth never thought of it that way as I have never once falsely reported another player for anything. That being said iâll flag a forum troll in a flat minuteâŠ
Iâd just like to put people on ignore.
The gnome avatarsâŠlol
Thatâs just wrong.
Same.
But I have to admit though, the thread mute functionality is a god-tier enhancement. I donât have to get jebaited into politics and get suspended because the mods didnât want to close a politics thread, I can just make it disappear like magic.
The problem is more inconsistent standards from moderator to moderator. You get one in a bad mood and asking a legitimate question that isnât even insulting to most people becomes harassment. Others times you have to mailbox them to get months of ongoing harassment stopped.
I got a post removed the other day for telling people if they donât play on the PTR to test then they donât have much of a reason to complain about bugs. Guess that was supposed to be trolling, I just thought it was common sense.
To report someone on the forums:
You actually have to log on to the game.
Log on to the character who has the most forum posts.
Go stand in front of your Faction leader (Anduin or Sylvanas), and thenâŠ
Alt + F4
That will send your report to the appropriate venue.
It seems like the only real option is to just stop visiting these forums.
The garbage and nonsense that goes on is just obnoxious at times.
They have always been bad but lately itâs just been awful and they seem to be more hands off than ever.
This would be great. Id also like it to be âignore the accountâ and not âignore the characterâ.
Not gonna link, 'cause the situation is done and done, but recently there was an issue with offensive videos being posted, and I reported them one after the other as soon as they were posted, to no avail. They stayed up.
When almost three weeks (nineteen days) had passed with no moderation, I went to CS and posted for help. I got the typical, âthis doesnât do anything, report and move on, youâre wasting your time,â etc. Standard fare and all that.
Yet in a matter of hours after making that thread, the offensive videos started being removed, and I guess the person was removed as well because I havenât seen them since.
So, I was told straight up by a blue that my posting and the removal was a big coincidence. You know, nineteen days after the first report, I just happened to make a CS thread mere minutes before they started the moderation. Okie dokie.
A green even chimed in and said that it was possible someone saw my CS thread and passed a note somehow to the moderation team to take a closer look at those reports.
Take all this info, may it serve you well.
