Because you’re limited in transmog you have to make use of what is available. Modifcations and transmog stuff combined helps.

Huge opportunity missed to make them this:
Customizable Titan constructs would have been much cooler than amputee gnomes living on a trash heap. Imagine an untouched Titan facility cut off from the rest of Azeroth that got invaded by N’zoth because we went looking for it? Lead in to 9.3 way better than what we got.
Better lore tie ins too.
