How do you get into playing a Mechagnome?

I feel like I’m playing a quadruple amputee with prosthetics because that’s actually what they are.

What the heck?

I tried. Got the heritage armor then deleted it few months later.

I am a horde main and I haven’t unlocked all of the horde allied races.

I doubt I will ever get to play mechagnome one day.

In my honest opinion I think the concept is cool.
Only thing that turns me off is their body to head proportions.

I will definitely play mechahuman if there is one. They will look like terminators

When I was still actively raiding it was the best race for my class.

My opinion on the visual aesthetics of mechagnomes:

  • All equipment slots need to be available for xmog, OR
  • The non xmog slots need a boatload more options and colors.

If mechagnomes had something like 40 different colors and 30 different options (per limb), that’d be neat. And honestly, if the mechagnome is equipping a glove… why not allow them to show that they’re equipping a glove? I’m guessing it was a lazy move because existing gnome glove models didn’t match up with things like pincers and such for the mechagnome model.

I just got into their story. They’re just cyborgs.

Like while the limbs are prosthetics they’re far more advanced than anything we have in real life… Just live a little.

Enjoy the idea that a wolf biting down on your arm not only wouldn’t hurt you but would hurt the wolf.

Or that your arm is “naturally” armored and has a built in pinkie lockpick. :stuck_out_tongue:

This though. We do need more options, not just from the perspective of people liking or hating it.

There is so much they could do to make us even more interesting than we already are. I mean only having two choices on arm and leg thickness? Thats all?

Its unimaginative to the extreme.

Mine is named Locutush and resistance is futile.

I have 2 for the tranMogs.

A hunter for the 50s sci-fi looking ray-gun and Frost Death knight for so he can dual weild those chainsaw swords.

It’s an extremely specific taste that’s not going to be for most people. And that would be okay, but… compare them to the Vulpera.

They’re avatars of all the cute fluffy animal pics, memes, videos, and other media that make up the closest thing the internet has to an official religion … this was a popularity contest that couldn’t get any more skewed.

The Alliance really got hosed on the Allied Race front.

I was really excited about mechagnomes until I made one. I was really disappointed that the options were limited and worse yet, there was nothing really there for them engineering/mechagon wise. I had hoped that they would get customizers from Mechagon or perhaps additional interactions with the engineers there but — nothing.

Blizzard missed an opportunity there. Especially given the trinket customizers that they had available to all players. It suggested possibilities that sadly, were never pursued by the developers.

Hmm… What did you have in mind to apply that to them?

I can see that being a bit hard to implement fairly overall.

This I agree with. you’d think we’d get some sort of little quip here and there.

You wear a dress and things that are gold/silver to match the metal. EZ PZ.

Also play fire mage and enjoy double cheat death.

a while back I leveled one of each race to get the heritage armors and the achieves.

every second of the mechangnome processes was awkward, unenjoyable and embarassing.

definitely not the race for me.

tho i saw one on the forums yesterday or the day before with one of the best mogs I’ve ever seen on a gnome. so kudos to that guy lol.

I had thought perhaps some additional mechagnome only engineering recipes, or perhaps existing recipes easier to acquire. At the least, recipes that might match some of the ‘mods’ of the mechagnome - legs could be ‘engineered’ leg armor or boots, eyes could be like the existing engineer goggles that can be made, maybe with an additional flair. And maybe something mechagnome version of that trinket they had available one could program, like a different card, etc.

One just didn’t feel part of the mechagnome crowd when in mechagon and I think that was the thing that disappointed the most.

Remember their name? Always love seeing new mogs.

Oh! I see what you mean.

That would have been swell and very much helped to give us some entertaining lore bits there. I would have loved that.

Yeah.

On the one hand I get they don’t want to change up the story and such just because making that match up would have been awkward, but getting some nods or rewarded for being one of them would have been a nice touch.

Honestly Blizzard should consider doing more world building along those lines for every race when they have the opportunities.

this is easy:

  1. Watch the Black Mirrior episode called “Metal Head”
  2. Make a Dumpster Gnome Hunter
  3. Use the standard issue pet if necessary
  4. Use the Jumanji Van Pelt mustache
  5. Level to 50
  6. Get Heritage Armor
  7. RP and the Black Mirrior “BigDog”

The allied race mechagnomes should of been fully robots.

I was able to find it in my post history

idk it’s not super complicated but I really like the thought that went into it, with the toolbelt and saw, and the fact that she matched her hair. it makes me laugh and idk, I really like it
