How do you feel about Sylvanas: the bad guy?

Reminding myself to post here later. I do want to add my tidbit to the discussion.

It’s not that they’re out of ideas. It was always the idea. Pyromancer is right. Pyromancer has always been right. Here…take the Reynolds and make your own hat. Join us. We’re not a cult.

Be careful not to choke on yourself too hard, bro.

I wish this whole story could just be retconned. Not just BfA, all of WoW. The Horde’s a shadow of its former self thanks to all its ****ing characters dying or leaving. Yay! More death and leaving! Just what we all needed!

I can’t wait for Generic Orc and Lady Empowered New Female Character to take the places of Saurfang and Sylvanas, two of the most iconic characters of their respective races for a great many expansions! They’ll definitely be good replacements. Oh, assuming we get them. Might take two or three expacs.

I lost a lot of interest in Sylvanas as a character back in Cata when she went full cartoon villain and dragged the rest of the forsaken along with her. I had some dread when they made her warchief but felt that surely they wouldn’t do another evil warchief story, particularly since she would probably drag the horde along with her and make it look completely stupid.

Now I just find her boring and annoying. I don’t find her compelling in the slightest as a villain. I just wished if they were going to throw her into full villain role at least they could have spared the Horde from being involved in her rise as a villain.

Either I smell sarcasm or there’s something scarier going on than the Twilight Cult.

Been looking on mmo-champion and apparently there is still one leak that still holds up after the war campaign that says she was actually a good guy the whole time and is going to put N’zoth in the black blade. :pray:t3:

Honestly hope they don’t view feedback from the forums. I don’t want her to get killed off because nelves are still angry. They didn’t even have to kill sorryfang

She belongs to the Maw let her stay in the Maw

I’m fed to the teeth with fighting former Horde leaders turned villains, so no, I would not enjoy her as a villain. Been there, done that, got the T-shirt, will scream if I have to do it again. (This goes for Gallywix too.)

And I doubt she’s going to become an Illidan-style antihero because supposedly she’s lost a lot of her edgy personality now that her soul’s been repaired.

ETA: Just realized this is a necro, but oh well. My comment stands.

Sylvanas and Gallywix did nothing wrong and I refuse to kill yet another former Horde leader just because Blizzard is too lazy to create new big bad guys without further squatting the Horde cast.

Post necro’d so hard even Kel’Thuzad showed up.

Though reading the posts with hindsight truly hits different.

Man, this aged like milk. Shame, really.

It was depressing to see her writing from BFA to Shadowlands. As for moving forward, I think she’s just gonna stay in the Maw until she’s needed again. TWW is setting this big war against the void, and eventually undead forces (Forsaken, Dark Rangers and Ebon Blade) will probably make a good portion of forces to fight against the void given their resistance to corruption. And then they’d need a general to coordinate, organize and plan how to run said army. They’d need first and foremost an undead commander to avoid having said commander being secretly corrupted. It also has to be someone already used to commanding undead forces and knowing how to operate with their strengths and weaknesses. Has to be someone with experience in dealing with an impossible foe against all odds.

She’s gonna be back eventually, and other leaders will invariably ask “why should we trust her?” we are gonna have Anduin stepping in and saying ‘If you don’t trust her, trust me’. Everyone hugs each other except Tyrande because that poor woman can’t catch a break.

Mark my words.

I’m honestly not sure that’s still canon. We haven’t heard anything about it in a long time.

I honestly hope it still is because I think its a super cool aspect of undeath that gives an extra edge to them in this fight.

It is cool, but I don’t know if it really makes sense anymore now that undeath isn’t all that special. They’re kind of rehabilitating is as “just another lifestyle choice.”

Also, any of the cosmic forces can create undead now, apparently? Which I guess means that void could do it too?

Eh, maybe after you go to the shadowlands its a lifestyle choice, but to most forsaken and ebon knights it was very much not a chosen lifestyle. We know that the Light can create undeads and Xal can possess a corpse, but we don’t know if thats a widespread power or just for her. We also don’t know yet if voidforged/voidbound undead can be created (at least to my knowledge).

Personally I hope we get to see the Worgen and Forsaken maul Void forces. The werewolves also have an innate shadow resistance with their Aberration racial and presumably have fairly decent mental discipline from having to control their feral tendencies.

Scary things fighting different, unrelated scary things is always a vibe. And with the Dark Fallen on the board we now have the forces of Dracula, Frankenstein and the Wolfman at play. Such an unholy trinity in the vicinity slaying with a serious symbiotic synergy should be enough to best Cthulu.

Well unless it has Abbot and Costello kicking around.

The best thing about necroed threads?

Seeing all the people these forums have lost along the way.

But seriously, stop necroing threads. Looking at you Landusk. Bad orc, bad!

I haven’t been in the forums in a hot minute, so seeing names like Grandblade, Reallyhappy and Treng was almost nostalgic

iirc Treng is one of the toons Dreadmoore posted on. He liked to do that at the time.
