At 1:5:24 Ion is asked about if master loot will be making a return in BFA. His reasons for saying that it was removed has to do with personal agency and something about eliminating negative experiences for people and fairness. See the video and tell me what your thoughts on his stance here are.
I think his argument of personal agency loses weight when you can’t choose to trade loot unless the system decides you should be allowed to trade it. It seems to me that it’s less about agency and more about protecting the “abused” player.

I don’t care. That being said i want to trade items to guild members. If for example i get a 475 ring with vers and mastery.

I would like the option of being able to trade my personal loot even if it’s an upgrade.

Loot in BFA basically became a participation trophy, but with random denials thrown in to make sure there wasn’t an over abundance of loot being given.
This is why RNG needs to go away.

I am almost certain we had this conversation like 2 years ago.
Why are we having it again now?

Wow wouldn’t exist if there wasn’t “RNG”.

Because the modern loot system is still bs

My opinion is that the only mistake Ion made with personal loot is not give us the ability to trade any loot we get even if is an upgrade. as “upgrades” as the game sees it is a very flawed concept.
I do like personal loot and think is superior than Master loot.

Isn’t this technically a callout thread?
I take it you didn’t play when there were actual loot tables?
your right personal loot is flawed but if you could trade everything regardless of upgrade then blizz already knows guilds would abuse this and still do a form of master loot. they would just force all loot traded to one guy and he would distribute how they see fit.

I think personal loot is superior. It avoids the most irritating situation of all which is LFG “X on reserve” nonsense. It’s worth it for that alone.

I don’t really care for master looter. I think most of this drama will go away now that Loot+ is going away. It’s that simple. People are whining because right now it is hard to trade loot, but once most drops in the raid are the same ilvl it will be much easier to share loot. Also, with less loot dropping overall, you will have less instances where you will feel compelled to give your loot away as well, so less “feels bad” moments.
This will resolve itself in Shadowlands.

I take it you don’t understand what “RNG” means and asking for it to go away means you are just another person using buzzwords to complain about something completely different than “RNG”.

I am coming entirely out of my personal history here but I raided in various mythic guilds before I became a filthy pug. I have never had any issues with master loot while I was in a guild. I can see how good respectful guilds can use master loot for the benefit of everyone.
I do have some horror stories about master loot that has made me believe that personal loot is superior, but all of those stories come from pugging entirely.
I do not like master loot. But I do think it should be an option that guilds can use if for example the raid is currently made out of 100% guild members.
but yeah, personal loot is a blessing when pugging.

Most players who screamed about master loot have never been in a position to even use it. lol
Yeah, but also no. He’s a public figure in this community. I think it’s fair play.
dont join that guild then? it doesn’t effect you.
