How do you "define" your play style?

Early in a patch, I’m heavily active.

  • My primary focus is ensuring success in raids for my guild.
  • I focus on story lines. getting those completed. This obviously doesn’t take long. hint hint.
  • Make sure my lego is set.
  • Participate in M+ even though I absolutely HATE the system in its current form.
  • All that self progression and equipping stuff is pushed pretty heavy.

Late into a patch I enter power saver mode.

  • My stuff is up to date.
  • Log on for raids.
  • I TRY to do at least one M+ each week to keep it rolling… (NOT to be confused with something I enjoy doing…)
  • Thats about it. Plenty of time for playing other games and working on other stuff.

I am in no way a hardcore player but I play hard. I don’t pull my punches or cut corners to get things done. I do it properly and have decent expectations out of those I play with.
I hate Metas, and I don’t have interest in pushing mythic or super high M+. the Esport and PvP stuff can spin on it.
I’m here for the social and to just keep it rolling more than anything.

“Whatever my mood is.”

I go with the flow of what my general friend group is interested in and do it till I’m satisfied or up to or above par with the group. I stop caring after a bit and then just start logging on for roleplay, and casual M+ and gearing stuff.

Casual. I play less than 8 hours a week on average with most of that being raid time.

Casual. Very, very casual. I used to be able to focus on goals, like rep and the sort. Not anymore, so I play whatever character I’m in the mood to play at any given time. Lost my ability to focus long term. This year has taken the wind out of my sails.

I play a lot, but I’m totally casual. I don’t do anything that’s challenging. I do lots of world quests, mostly legion. I do old achievements, especially guild achievements for my alts guild. I have 1160 guild achievement points, no mean feat for a private guild. I farm old dungeons. Find old rare things including but not limited to mounts.

I tried raiding in Legion but I was too slow a learner at it for it to be worth my time. I liked mythic+ and did lots of low to mid keys in Legion. But changes to mythic+ in BfA and the continuing trend in SL mean there’s no reason for me to do them. Everybody who does them seems very angry. Sorry not sorry.

I realized there was going to be nothing for casuals to do in SL when I leveled this character up the day before the prepatch and then found that regular gearing (world quest and dungeons) had been nerfed so hard that the only way to get this character’s ilvl up to 85 was by spamming mythic+ dungeons.

I saw into the future, and it looked grim.

I would purchase shadowlands to do PvP if they actually put in a PvP vendor selling gear that functions like wod gear did. But their track record on delivering what they say they will is so bad (Ion told us when introducing PvP vendors that PvP gearing was going to be like wod gearing. Is it?) that I figure this will just be a superficial fix that will add timegates and currencies to grind and help hardly anyone, like the new fake “valor” system.

Casualcore. My endgame consists of Normal raiding with some moonlighting in heroic. M+, but rarely to 15. In fact, I’ve never completed a 15. I will do weeklies, but don’t really do dailies.

I think that makes you a forum elite.

Casual. I use to raid way back in mop but the guild died and ever since I came back from a long break (due to Wod) I never really found any guild or anyone to play with anyway.

Tryhard casual.

I work second shift, and my desire to give enough of a flubber to seriously grind out mythic raiding is next to nil.

But I do heroic raiding, I push keys, and most importantly I push myself.
I may be in a guild that doesn’t have AOTC yet, and people who can’t do +15s, but I try to do well within that content, and will pug outside of it if I get stuck.

big dh n00b, mostly heroic level stuff.

I would say I’m a semi-core / tryhard casual player. Have done a bit of the heroic raid, done normal, done + keys to a decent level, done some semi-serious arena.

I just can’t commit to a weekly raiding schedule, but I run with my guilds as often as I can manage and we clear some good content together.

I have many RL commitments that prevent me from playing alot harder, and honestly I prefer it that way. This game can be a very slippery slope

im trying to keep a few characters caught up on renown and decently geared so i can swap if i feel like it at any given patch or if needed

ive been raiding normal when given the chance to, i miss harder progression into heroic ect ect but dont feel quite as secure with my group as i used to.
