How do y'all feel about pve realms?

So I might make the decision to go to Atiesh since it’s mostly Alliance, says it has around 10k active players and unlike Benediction won’t have an 8 hour Q each update. I wanted to make the move to Grob but unfortunately, even though it’s listed, you cannot transfer to it.

My biggest concern is never being able to return to a PVP realm, the rule to me seems odd and I do sometimes enjoy world pvp. Is not being able to return to a pvp realm a deal breaker for you all? Or did you not care?

World pvp is non-existent on most of the megaservers due to 99:1 faction ratios, on top of the fact that flying mounts killed wpvp in TBC.

As someone who also enjoys wpvp, I highly suggest trying out Classic Era. Its popping right now and the world pvp is excellent.

Yes. Funny enough, I’d rather play on a single-faction PVP realm than a Normal realm. Though, ideally I would have moved from Skyfury to Grobbulus, rather than to Whitemane (or really ideally, the healthy server population wouldn’t have just plummeted).

Too boring for me, but it’s good for players who know that they dont want to deal with being ganked in Redridge, Hillsbrad, or STV to have the option to skip out on that.

there haven’t been queues worth mentioning on benediction since the first couple weeks of the expansion passed

Dont do it man.

As of WotLK, you can migrate back to a PvP realm.

I leveled a rogue all through vanilla on a PvP server (loving it), then bounced to a PVE server to play with a coworker and found out mid BC when I wanted to go back to pvp I couldn’t.

Fortunately, I was able to take a free transfer off to Eranikus for all my toons and haven’t once looked back.

Also, to answer your initial question on how I feel about pve servers … I got a forum vacation for referencing pve servers as those cartoon creatures with symbols on their chest. I’m not a fan.

Nothing worse than seeing an opposing faction player wandering around you and you can’t just attack them without flagging yourself. Takes the “WAR” out of Warcraft.

TBC has epically wild WPvP at Netherwing, Halaa, Elemental Plateu, SSC, Hellfire Ramparts (the entire zone), throne of kiljaeden, skettis, the fishing daily lake, and the worst of them all…… the mushroom divers of Zangermarsh.

The progression server community decided they didn’t want PvP. Only the RPers could handle open world PvP since non-RPers are limp wrist soybois

I’d be willing to go so far as stating PVE servers lead to more griefing because you can’t fight for a mob and not only can other players on your faction steal your mobs, but the opposing side can too and there’s nothing you can do about it.

Maybe I should make a thread to complain about that.

I boosted a rogue on Benediction. It’s a paradise for tear farming.

I have a horde buddy who went there exactly for that… Told me he harvests the tears of the alliance outside the Uld raid gate.

I’ll quit the game before I leave Grobbulus.

I made the mistake and went to Atiesh, Mostly late night guilds. Pagel would be the better option since its EST like Benny. Higher pop than Atiesh as well.

Wpvp only mattered in vanilla. And even then faction imbalance ruined it (thanks horde).

In tbc and wrath, you may as well change all realms to pve

Atiesh is a good server, I enjoy it here. Good luck!

What do you mean by late night? Are you EST? Most things start here around 6P server time, which seems perfectly normal to me.

Pvp xfer restriction no longer applies. Also Bene hasnt had a queue for a year

pve world arent good to me. i did try it. feels to strange

World dont feel fun or dangérous. Just long road of level to 80 alone. feels now like a job. on pvp world i got to be pvp spec, use medallionfreedom, use pvp glyph in case i got ganked. Fire up diablo 2 in case i got camped. Have active portal next tò my mage every pull in case i heared rogue noise.

Is grobb still locked to transfers?
