You opt in, google wow wrath beta opt in and click the button after you log in.
The second part is the important part.
You create a circle in your living room of all the hard cases and cd’s of every blizzard game you own. Turn off all the lights and sit in the middle at exactly midnight. You must chant this phrase EXACTLY for one hour.
“BLIZZARD BETA MAKE ME WHOLE, WRATH BETA MAKE ME FULL”
Repeat until you see results. I am on day 17 but I feel good about tonight.

the opt in feature doesnt do anything i speculate. i can close browser and opt in over and over…did this like 100 times one day

I am guessing you have not begun the summoning ritual yet. Try it out.

Opt in, and some expansions ago I started getting beta access the very moment I started testing and reporting things on the PTR. Seems to be one of the methods to help flag you for consideration.
Other than that, link your WoW and Twitch accounts (make a twitch account) and stream the game and you’ll usually get in the first beta wave allegedly even without opting in: https://account.battle.net/connections
The ritual mentioned some posts above also works well.

Every time you whine about not getting in on the forums they add a couple years to the blacklist.
I just checked my account and there it was. First time ever getting accepted into a beta. Feel like it’ll be my last time cause honestly I’m not finding any bugs to report. It’s very polished

There is partial truth to this. It’s blizzard’s best form of advertising. I did get beta access 2 weeks ago and I rarely stream. I mostly just stream on my guild’s discord. While there is truth to streamers getting first pick, I also got access and all I did was opt in for the beta and got it a week later.
I assume unlike the retail beta forums anybody can post in the classic beta forums?
if you are a popular streamer you’re more likely to be picked, but there are still more non-streamers on the beta than streamers, but it is harder to see that from the outside, because the non-streamers by definition aren’t streaming
Be a streamer, thats it. Some streamers who get beta said they never even opted in.
If you can make blizz money by advertising the game on a social media platfom, then you get beta.

If Icecrown is fixed already and the fixes just haven’t been implemented yet, great. It feels like it’s way past time to be testing the low lvl dungeons and low lvl zones, but perhaps I’m being unfair.
For testing the high level zones… they could make a lvl 77+ template that can quest in Zul’drak, Storm Peaks, and Icecrown. Icecrown mainly needs the testing since it’s the only zone completely borked.
The higher lvl templates would encourage testing high lvl content because many people might not want to go through leveling on the beta and then do it again on live.
I suspect they’ll be adding lvl 80 templates soon to get proper testing on Heroics/PvP etc. VERY few people can be bothered leveling all the way on Beta, other than people who want to practice for speed leveling there’s no real point in spending the time to do it.
OT; Just opt in, you’re just as likely as anyone else to get an invite. It’s 99% random. The only things taken into consideration are that your account is in good standing and is currently subbed. If you’ve participated in previous Betas/PTRs and given actual feedback that can supposedly help your odds, but there’s no way of confirming that.
Roll a natural 20 like I did.
Doubtful you got in because you stream.
