How do Retail Players feel about Classic Wrath?

You mean the boost you could buy to be level 58 so you could actually play BC? Oh yeah that really hurt your player experience. Boo hoo.

I enjoyed the real wrath expansion… It was the height of my raiding experience and the most fun I’ve had in WoW.

They are removing what I felt was one of the best features (LFD) which pretty much makes me not want to play it. LFD wasn’t added until later in the expansion, but still… As an anti-social loner with much less time on my hands than before, I need the LFD tool. I, like many who play currently, don’t want to spend hours spamming “DPS LFG HoR”. Back when I played the real Wrath, I was still in college and had time to spare. Now, not so much.

Just my two cents. If they add LFD back in and make Wrath as it was back when it was the pinnacle of MMO games, I’ll play. If they stick by their decision not to add it back in, I won’t.

It to much of a time commitment to play both, you need to play one casually. I think its cool they give the option to play different expansions, i always try them out and see what sticks, As a casual I don’t care about bot issues or any other issues for that matter.

Been there done that in 2004-2005.

It’s a symbiotic relationship, actually. Without the people spending money for items, and bringing those big gold piles in to those runs, the people not spending anything wouldn’t make any money.

Those who have skills also have gold but not that big gold… Their gold is enough to startup a GDKP run.

Later in the weeks, the GDKP group becomes creative letting rich players come to first 3 to 6 bosses where loots are usually disenchanted. We have the rich to play on easy bosses and buy our garbage epics and then we kick them out and replace them with skilled players capable of killing the end bosses.

WHen my friend asked me to join a GDKP, I was hesitant at first becoz I dont have enough gold. My Engineering profession wont make me rich unlike my friend who is monopolizing the AH prices on Jewels. Anyway, he forced me to join. He said you wont gain loot on the first week GDKP run but you would get gold. I got 5k gold on the first GDKP run. And that 5k gold is what I used to buy loot on the next run. So on my 2nd run, I won a loot and got another 5k gold. I dont need to buy gold. Let GDKP raid runs shower me with their gold. But yeah, we imposed a minimum bid of 5k on every boss. We make sure we dont disenchant any loot… we should have a rich outsider buying them just to be kicked later.

Personally I don’t see how any of this criticism about GDKP doesn’t also apply to retail anyway.

Every single post in general/trade is essentially spam for selling high key runs and heroic/mythic boss kills for loot. It’s all over.

I’m excited but I am way behind in leveling through TBC so it is looking grim atm.

I enjoyed Classic, I have no interest in TBC or Wrath Baby Paradise

Well they are definitely trying to “unwrath-baby” it a little bit by making excellent changes such as the removal of RDF. They almost even nerfed dual spec (but they walked that back).

There’s still quite a few things I don’t like:

Quest add on being baseline
Heroic dungeons being absolute jokes difficulty wise
Multiple raid difficulties introduced

I almost never think about classic. I loved TBC and wrath back in the day, but I liked them because wow was new and that was the wow we had to play, not because they were objectively better than what we have now. The things I liked about the game then still exist now.

Zero interest in anything “classic”.

It isn’t the same.

Was looking to go back to Wrath on occasion, but then Blizz decided to remove the dungeon finder tool.

I don’t have any nostalgic yearning for WOTLK because those zones never went away and I can still go to them on my retail character.

Honestly I just want either fresh Classic servers or a SOM season 2.

I wanted it more than a new expac till they decided to gut it and remove dungeon finder.

I already did my time, I ain’t goin’ back!

I made a character to level 55 and promptly stopped. Taking breaks between mobs, the mod density on some locations was ridiculous you would aggro entire packs, skill ranks and the buying of skills, having quests in the a zone making you take a world trip to come back and kill the same mobs that an earlier quest had you do, quest items literally taking of all your bagspace to the point you even forgot about them and dont even remember what quest they were from since they didnt auto delete after turning. There’s a lot more but i dont feel like making a list, classic leveling is a pain and I dont have nostalgia goggles on tight enough to make me want to pull through all that only to hit max level and do attunements and rep grind to unlock more crap to grind.

I’m waiting for classic mop.

As much time as I have put into finding the Time-Lost Not-In-The-Game-Drake.
I’m passing HARD on ending up there again.
