How do people complain about healing?

I think it’s fun. The only thing that’s not fun about [insert your class/role] are bad [insert the class/role that anyone who dont play the same class/role that you play] who cry but they can easily be ignored.

which are the majority of the pvp population so probably you get a lot of unfun situations.

Yeah but I literally do not pay attention to them. I just laugh and move on because as a healer I can see if they press their wall or not when I’m in cc and spam pinging danger and they have absolutely no clue. Then when they die when they should have pressed I ignore their idiotic words and try to figure out how I can carry them harder.

I personally enjoy healing it’s very engaging.

If all you do is complain about healing. It clearly isn’t fun. So don’t do it.

I like healing too, but the bottom line is if the rewards and gameplay of healing was fine there would be plenty of healers queuing. There’s not.

Not really, generally the healer roll in most games is lacking. Most people want to do damage rather than keep their team alive. It’s not that healing is unfun. Just conceptually less popular. The problem with wow pvp however is that healers are 100% required. On pretty much every team.

wdym? I can spam queue shuffle as a healer, get insane amount of conquest through instant queues, I get to actually play the game and I think healing is fun, and I get healer boxes with little 50 conquest redeemables. I get to gear my alts now or my alt specs without having to do 2s which is impossible to do because nobody uses LFG anymore. The incentive’s are certainly there.

More true now than usual because of void disc I guess.

Yeah healing is about grinding consistency, I view it similar to a spec like demo, which I absolutely despise playing in shuffle. Giga damping out games just isn’t fun to me anymore.

I think it comes down to lobbies for how fun healing is on certain specs. Caster/melee mixed lobbies are super fun on rsham and you feel impactful. Hunters/cleave lobbies you feel like a afk bot.

If void disc didn’t exist oracle disc feels even better than rsham right now though. Way more damage, way easier to heal through hunters/wars, you can spam dispel disease from dks, way easier to heal through cleave damage in deep damp since totemic is bad.

The only thing that makes you want to f4 on oracle is playing against rets that sit on top of you trying to spam rep and your team doesn’t do anything about it.

Cc has been nerfed several times, you have a ridiculously short trinket cd and as a priest you have several outs with death/fade. Really just a skill issue respectfully.

Classic you think you do but you don’t. You’re complaining about cc but want to feel the wrath of kicks being powerful again.

Yes it is, majority of my 3s games have only ended once a healer went oom. The games very balanced if not on the slower side outside of shuffle.

This is what I mean… If you think healing is fun then it’s awesome. I also think it’s fun.

Unfortunately most people feel like unfun enough that it’s not worth the incentives. We see this clearly with the lack of actual healers queuing.

I’m not saying more incentives is the answer, but we can’t look at the numbers currently and just say everything is fine.

have nothing to do with the game lenght but the pacing.

it is fine when a 3v3 game takes 5-7 min.

You must have an extremely high iq

more than you for sure.

atleast i dont have the need to insult random people on the internet, grow up kid.

people usually complain about healing because:

  1. they prefer healing or just like the role in general but don’t have the meta knowledge, sustained in-game presence/awareness, and/or physical skills (apm, visual reaction speed, hand-eye coordination, etc.) necessary to fulfill its demands at the mmr they’d like to be playing at, which can be frustrating if they feel like their effort isn’t paying off or (crucially) if their actual skill level contradicts their own self-concept surrounding how good they are at it (one disc player in particular in the arena forums community is basically a case study on this sort of cognitive dissonance)
  2. they’re PvE players who expect PvP healing to be the same experience and want it to be the same because that’s the kind of healing that’s fun for them and/or because they feel good about their PvE accomplishments and experience the same kind of frustration as people in #1 when they fail to succeed in PvP
  3. they’re DPS mains/people who used to be DPS mains who expect healing to require the same skillset as DPS and essentially just want blizz to change healers to be a green number iteration of “spam m+ rotation without thinking about ability prios or resource management outside of procs and burst windows” to resolve the conflict between what they want/expect and what healers actually are
  4. the role itself demands patience and is often frustrating because of how CC (especially micro CC) is used on healers and how most DPS both behave (in-game awareness issues, “BRO I DID SO MUCH DAMAGE” instead of “omg dude idk how you kept me alive” after a win that would have been impossible had the healer not completely hardcarried and compensated for egregious mistakes made by the DPS) and treat you if you queue shuffles/aren’t selective enough or able to be selective enough when choosing 2s/3s partners
  5. they’re healer mains whose main spec sucks or is poorly designed which makes their healing experience unsatisfying or outright unenjoyable. these complaints are completely fair, but they’re usually tied to particular specs, not to the role in general

I’m terminally healer-brained and enjoy healing whenever I’m playing WoW on a regular basis regardless of how awful my main spec or preferred alt ones are. pretty sure I had like 800-1000 3s games on hpriest in season 1 in addition to enough shuffle rounds to make it impossible to hide what psychiatrists think about whether or not I’m neurodivergent

if you have the self-awareness to realize that #1, 2, or 3 apply to you, might be time for some introspection. if it’s #4 or 5, sorry bud; I understand your frustration. better times lie ahead

I think it’s healers just wanting to hold queues hostage saying “we’re not gonna queue until we get what we want!” Like I’ve been healing and you already get so much honor, conquest, boxes, fast queues and I think the gameplay is really fun.

I wish they’d change gearing so I could have an extra set for healing. I know I could create another shaman, but I hate lvling with a passion.

If only there was a way to always force a mortal strike spec on each team. Playing no mortal strike lobbies as healer is pepega as it gets. Even as a dps it’s boring. Also double hunter lobbies as healer is insanely cringe.

Btw, you can get to 80 in legion remix in like 3 hours after your first char (which also takes half as long as normal). I leveled like 6 chars already on the TBC account I recovered. You get stacking bonus xp from doing the dragon quests, I’m at 250% bonus xp now.

The way you do it is get to level ~25 in dungeons for gear - > go to heroic mode - > do the bonus objectives on the map until it gets too hard - > dungeon for more gear - > finish world objectives and you are basically 70 already

do daily random dung once a day for bonus xp if you are doing multiple chars at a time. Most of the time someone is doing a carry and solo’s it so you can alt tab and afk for 10 minutes

But the characters don’t transfer until legion remix is over right?

Blizzard should just take away the whole gearing process of PvP imo. It’s so outdated and dumb. Would make everything much easier.

No, you can transfer early. But they keep having problems with it and people figuring out exploits so it’s disabled right now. Who knows if they figure it out, but either way, it’s easy to prep for next xpac.

I don’t mind the gear grind too much, it’s really fast to gear in 2s. Socketing is kinda egregious if you play a bunch of alts though, but having a source of gold from pvp for other players is probably good. idk

It’s an interface and equipment problem. I’ve played healer, but the default interface doesn’t help at all in terms of learning, not to mention the time you have to invest to get PvP gear.

The spell pruning and addon ban in Midnight are steps in the right direction.

nah, healing is gonna be awful without bigdebuffs and omnicd

Most dps players switching to healing just have bad keybind setups where they are fumbling around using alt/control modifiers to target. I think the hardest/most annoying part of healing at a basic level is the peripheral vision needed of watching raid frames + the dps trying to cc you at the same time. Mage being able to shimmer mid cast a .8 second sheep being the most toxic.
