I have several months left on my subscription but I will be unable to play after just a few short days here and I want to still get to keep these remaining months that I paid for.
I am not entirely certain you can. Much like your cable bill is the same no matter how much you watch TV, so is the sub.
However, it never hurts to ask. I would use live chat option and talk to billing. While there is no guarantee they will say no… And a strong chance this is the case, it does not hurt to ask. But like I said, be prepared for a no.
Unfortunately, game time cannot be paused. That said, if you don’t access the game at all for the remainder of the paid game time, then it’s possible that Billing will be able to provide a credit or some game time in lieu of the time not played.
It’s not guaranteed, but it’s possible and would be something you’d request from Billing when you’re ready to play again (assuming it’s not a very long absence).
Make sure that if you have a reoccurring subscription currently, that you cancel that so that it doesn’t bill again
That’s a bummer. I’ve used very little of my 6mo sub. I’d love to pause it for a couple months.
Yep, that’s the trade off of a 6 month sub vs buying shorter increments.
But when you return, contact billing and they’ll often throw you some time.
As Mastadon mentioned, you’re welcome to ask! It’s completely at Billing’s discretion and every situation is different.
You’re welcome to ask via a Refund Request Ticket.
I just don’t like getting people’s hopes up. We tend to be a little more realistic (to the point) here in CS
I had a chat with the customer support (seriously, kudos to that response time, and to GM Scagarrde who’s wonderful. I was using the live chat btw)
The answer is that while there is no pre-emptive capability to preserve what I paid for, after the fact when I come back i can open a ticket and they are able to see just how much, or rather how little, game time I’ve used and credit my subscription based on that.
Kudos to you on your attitude regarding the situation as well. Glad you figured something out.
