I can gift a moutn I don’t own, the option is there, but for ones I do, the option isn’t there to gift it to someone.
Which mount are you trying to gift? I have all the mounts and I can gift every one except Tyrael’s Charger.

The ability to gift the mount is more about the mount and not if you own it already. If the gift option is available it will be shown as an option on the Shop.
Tyrael’s Charger is not able to be gifted.

That’s idiotic though… Why is it like that? I can just gift the balance to someone and they can buy it themselves. That literally ruins everything about christmas though. Blizzard being brainless?
That isn’t really something that Customer Support can provide insight on, Gaiaeffect. Usually if something cannot be gifted there are licensing or other restrictions in place.

I’m not offended, Gaiaeffect, nor am I remotely close to the millennial generation… Most of us, regardless of our generation, remember the lessons about how to behave in public and how to be civil. Which is entirely irrelevant to the fact that insulting others / name calling violates our Code of Conduct. That applies to your fellow players as well as us. There is no reason to insult others, outside of making yourself feel bigger.

A Side Note for Blizz. You can put it on your Gift Registry but no one can see it listed. So it’s quite confusing.
That is because others can gift you the gold in-game to buy a token on the AH which can be converted to bnet balance and used to purchase the mount.

What part of the term “licensing” leads you to believe Blizzard owns the product rather than being allowed to distribute someone else’s work under specific conditions?

I wish someone could gift me the WOLK classic Undying run so I can finish the meta for the plagued drake. Trying to get that has been excruciating 
I’m sorry but how is that relevant to the back and forth over a store mount? Blizzard has nothing to do with groups making it through a raid, or even those that sell spots in runs - of which I’m sure there are people who do on Classic realms. That would be best left to trying to inquire on your realm forums or server chats.
