How do I get rid of excess profession knowledge points?

I keep getting spammed with notifications that never go away and glowly highlights on my UI. Extremely annoying. Since I know there’s no way to disable these “helpful” UI “suggestions”, I need some way to delete these points I can’t spend. Or is there something I can spend them on? Anyone know?

Is this a default UI thing? I’ve been max Alchemy KP for a while and I never get notifications on Tuesdays or anything glowing.

Hide Profession Knowledge Tooltip addon

Once again, what should be a basic UI element, is an addon.

There are “Apprentice Crafter/Gatherer” NPCs between the Herbalism dude and the spot Thomas and Miguel chill at, you can “sell” them 10 knowledge for 25 mettle.

Not a perfect solution, since you can only sell 10 at a time and the notification pops up when you have 5 or more knowledge, but it’s something.
