How do I get geared?

It seems that this game doesnt help out casuals like me to get better gear for end game pvp. I have looked up guides on what people do to gear up but nothing seems to be really working much. ive raided (unfortunately can only do Raid finder because I do not have a good guild) I love to pvp but 60 pvp is just punishing for people with crap gear like mine. I dont have hours a day everyday of the week to play. I mean is this meant to be for people who have 10+ hours a day to grind gear? If there is anyone who can help me out I would appreciate it. I dont want to quit the game but I am getting burned out trying to gear up for PVP since it feels as if I am punished for trying to get better.

best thing buddy, if you aren’t having fun from the start, is to just start at the beginning of a new major patch because peeps are somewhat closer and participation is as high as it will get for that patch (and some form of catch up systems) - it is literally your highest chance at fun in wow pvp aside from launch when everyone is dead equal for a while

or play pvp in the under level 60 brackets, the grind for that gear is leagues shorter than the level 60 pvp borrowed power and gear grind

Or if anyone knows of a guide that is around that can help. I am not expecting to get geared from day one I understand that I will have to work towards getting the gear. Like I said just seems like I am missing something.

partysync into 51-59 to grind out the honor for the pvp gear.

As a solo player, best thing I’ve seen work for pvp gear is grab the weekly quests and enjoy your whooping. Get to 197 ilvl and post a group for arena 2v2. Continue to get whooped until you gain enough conquest for a weekly chest. Quit for the week. Repeat until you are full conquest geared.

Now try to push rating. Gl.

I would spam 2s for conquest at you gear level. Create a group and say that it’s for earning conquest and just spam it. You’ll lose some, maybe even a lot in the beginning, but you’ll win some eventually.

Outside of arena unfortunately can only grind honor, and do weekly quests and daily wins. But 2s is so much faster.

I really appreciate all the help makes it easier to make a goal.

Spam 2’s… you can’t lose rating upto 1000 rating and you can even upgrade your gear at that rating . Plus it’s the fastest way to get Conquest and honor.

yeah, its sad that blizz decided to leave honor gear max at ilvl 197

Really screws casuals and I pvp very little now

I think honor gear is boosted to 233 level in PvP. It’s very respectable .

like others already said: 2s
with your gear u get clapped in unrated pvp.
low rated 2s has the advantage that u most likely get matched with people that have bad gear as well and even if u dont and lose a lot ur mmr will drop so that u eventually be at a point where u be able to win games.
its sadly the only way there is currently.

You don’t lose mmr upto 1000 rating and you can upgrade to combatant 1 at that point .

But ya if you are determined not to do Arena then you are probably screwed . What to say that’s what Ion has decided . Everyone has to play rated atleast a little .

u dont lose cr but mmr im pretty sure. i was playin on my 200ilvl dk with a packpadeling mage from lfg whom lost much more games then he won and we was able to win most of our games because the mmr was so low i believe.

but ye make no mistake about it. to gear up u have to spam 2s, like many many games. idk ur arena exp but if ur good i would recommand to go for 2x dps with a hybrid. like war/ret war/enh for example. at this low rating u can overwhelm healers. if u play war/healer it could be that enemy heal has too much gear for u to kill him alone. and ye u will meet many overgeared people with 40-50k life even below and at 1.4k. so yea if u want the gear u just have to grind it out. good luck mate.

i would just like to point out players who min/max in lower level bgs(twinks or whatever) are the only subset of the player base who gears up before they pvp.

why are you even here on the forums right now? you’re wasting time that you could be using to lose bgs/arenas for a sprinkle of conquest.

I checked again and you are correct. I just cant upgrade my old stuff (sinful gear) is where I was confused.

Thanks for the heads up!

Ignore honor gear, it’s a time sync and should be avoided. Save your honor for upgrades, you’ll need it

Like others have said, spam arena. 2s or 3s, 2s is easiest if you don’t have a couple friends to do it with. I joined a guy’s game on an alt who had in the title “I’m really bad at this” and it was a lot of fun, we played like 20-25 games and I got a few pieces out of it. Most games at lower rating are short, either a win or loss.

If you don’t want to upgrade your legendary to 262 right away, do some lower level torghast runs and make a 235 - you won’t need soul cinders, just soul ash. If you want to go for 262 I just spammed 9s, they weren’t that hard. I did this in a couple different sitting cause spamming torghast is boring, as soon as you get out of a good run with all your powers and have to go back in with none … its painful.

Do your weekly PVP quest, especially against overwhelming odds when it’s up - it’s a ton of conquest.

Start with your weapon as melee then after that I don’t think it matters

Do your shaping fate and assaults, they will either give you your missing conduits or they’ll upgrade your existing ones up to 226. In between BG queues you can also sit in Korthia for the soultwing conduit upgrades , it’s what a lot of my friends do.
