How do I find a guild?

Genuinely stumped on this issue at the moment.
Here is what I am experiencing atm:

  • The server I am on (Benediction), despite being one of the most populated servers, has a dead forum.
  • Trade chat is spammed with guilds…that are selling GDKP runs.
  • The few needles in the haystack that are actual guilds that want to recruit people only want heavily geared players to finish progging black temple.

I cannot find a guild that is brand new and starting to run KZ. I once stood in Shatrath for over an hour on Saturday just staring at chat looking for an opportunity to join a build, but I just keep seeing the points mentioned above.
Any advice?

find your realm discord, it’s probably much more active on the ol recruitment front

Thanks for the advice, I didn’t even consider the discord!

Looks like this is your chance to start a guild.

Here’s a link or the Benediction server Discord:

You need to select your role etc and then look through alliance-guild-recruitment and contact those guilds or if you can’t find what you’re looking for post in alliance-looking-for–guild and explain exactly what that is, your class, and the times you can raid.

Finding a guild both brand new and starting Karazhan could be an issue, but it’s a huge server so maybe.

The others didn’t mention this so I will. There will not be a huge number of new players that are looking to form new guilds to prog Kara. Kara is a badge farm for casuals now and you can PUG ZA in quest gear. So just pug for a week or two and then join a BT guild? It’s very easy to get into PUG runs just for badges and gear. Best time ever really.

While spamming for a guild a good way to get a spot is to do whatever independent gearing you can without a guild by yourself. What is your class?

As someone who plays on both a low-med PvE & a heavy population PvE server, the communities are like night & day.

LFG channel is 90% booster & GDKP spam on the heavy population server (with a healthy dose of bored, man-child idiots in chat thrown into the mix) & the guilds tend to be less friendly & more authoritarian-hardcore. Farming mats & such is also a huge chore, since most things are over-camped.

The guild that I run with on the low-med server is friendly, casual & runs KARA, ZA & some 25-person raids at every lockout reset, & random heroics & even some reg dungeons all the time. Literally the only downside of the low-med server is that non-guild random 70 PuGs & leveling dungeons PuGs are far more scarce. While LFG channel does have its usual, smaller pool of morons posting childish nonsense also, at least you hardly ever see any booster or GDKP spam.

I guess that I would describe the difference between the two as basically that of living in a dense, packed, impersonal urban environment versus that of a smaller, more-relaxed town.
