How do I enter a Japanese address for payment processing?

I live in Japan and I have spent half a day trying to figure out how to format my address so that blizzard can successfully authorize my payment.

When the country is set to Japan, the address line only includes
Name, Address, City
This means all relevant address information other than city must be placed in the address line. I believe that the client is failing to accept my formatting and therefore it’s unable to confirm that the entered address and the address associated with my VISA match.

Do any players or staff have any experience with successfully getting a payment made with a Japanese VISA card to process?

I really want to sub for the launch of classic but after half a day of trying I’ve basically lost hope.

Maybe someone here will know how you can do it yourself, but if not, perhaps Billing could help you. I think you can open a ticket with them, or use live chat if you can make your schedule match up (since I assume you’re in a Japan time zone).

I’d probably recommend getting in touch with billing to see if they can lend a hand. I’d suggest live chat when they open up.

  1. 1st Row ： From: First name Last name.
  2. 2nd Row ： Name of the building, like an apartment bldg. and room number (if applicable)
  3. 3rd Row ： House number, street, town/village.
  4. 4th Row ： City, Prefecture/State/Province.

Thanks for the replies. Due to time zone shift and my international calling restrictions I can’t call support.

I have an ongoing ticket open with billing but they are unfortunately are at a loss as to why my payment keeps failing.

The trouble is that the billing address page for Japan only has 3 entry boxes
Name
Address
City

After jamming everything else into the address line, I always get an error message.

I’ll keep trying but I think I might just have to resign myself to buying 60 day game time cards from Amazon US and having them physically shipped to me in Japan. It will cost me an extra $5 per 60 days due to import and shipping but at least I’d be able to play.

Are you able to purchase game time through the Blizzard store if you use a paypal and an unrelated account?

I live in Japan and playing WoW for a long time and paymant is made by a credit card.

I filled my address like this:

  1. First name Last name
  2. Apt #xxx, Apt Name, Tenjin x-x-x,
  3. City, Prefecture, Post Code

Yes. As there’s only three lines given to JP addresses.

Unfortunately no luck so far. I think at this point the issue must reside with the bank. Perhaps there is some reason on their end that they won’t authorize the transaction.

Thank you Hifa. I finally got it to work. I had to go through the process of submitting documents to get my country of origin set to Japan. After that, your formatting worked!
