I’m trying to delete two posts. I am the “owner” of these posts, but there does not seem a simple way to do this. When I try to delete, I get: “You don’t have permission to delete this topic. If you really want it to be deleted, submit a flag for moderator attention together with reasoning.”
I have no idea how to flag for a moderator because all the flag choices that do pop up do not apply.
Am I missing something?
If the thread has generated replies, I believe you can no longer delete it, as it is no longer your thread, but the community’s.
On the bar at the bottom of the post however is a flag icon. You can use that to self-report the post/thread for removal. Use the best option you think would apply.
Once flagged, you can edit the post to indicate you want it removed.
Thank you! The only snag is none of the flag icon choices apply (inappropriate content, etc.).
Your other option is to edit the post and leave it virtually blank.
Inappropriate would probably work. And just edit the post to
“Please delete this thread as it is no longer needed”
It will be up to the moderators to decided if the thread no longer has merit on the forums.

I’ll try that - thank you guys!
Generally speaking, the options aren’t designed to allow you to delete entire posts/threads after a certain amount of time. However, if you have a thread that you feel might be problematic, our Moderation staff may be able to help.
Keep in mind this is not a guarantee but you can submit a forum appeal, link the URL of your post and ask that it be deleted.
