I have 600g across 5 toons (was more but p2 epic crafting, mounts and recipe buying cost)
Here’s how I make gold
- Fishing and selling the high level healing and mana pots/potions you get.
- Doing quests at max level (40 for now)
- Farming expensive herbs and selling
- Crafting rarer items that are used to fill crates (this has gone down because the rewards are not present - if the rewards are good it might take off again)
- Farming mithril ore
- Farming heart of the wild drops
- Now I have my epic helm I might sell some of the reagents when all guildies are done with crafting their helm.
That is why I think going to raid with 0 upgrades is abuse of my time. I complained a lot on this forum
Sm graveyard theres 2 chests then i go to armory and kill to that chest then to lib and my bags are normally full by time i get to the 1st chest in there. Next is ogres in badlands for mageweave, greens, raw silver. Next is dustwallow for spiders sell the meat vendor the rest. If you fish take a lap around stv. Finish your lap and kill trolls sell the wild vine the skullsplitters. And finally when you get bored with all that kill some basilisks for a grey item farm.
Play anything but a Healer – BOOM free gold.
go solo sm lib or something, like 8-13g a run, pretty quick to do.
I tried soloing sm, and can honestly say i suck at it. Whether im in wrong spec, or dont know certain choke points, couldnt tell you. Soloing is not for me
Level alts and funnel all gold to your main.
Your goal should not to farm gold, but to avoid spending gold in the first place, so if you can craft everything yourself you’re golden.
Must say the mount hit price is a tragedy though… so make sure your alts are paladin and warlocks to save that gold.
“but I just to make a decent enough amount herbing in classic @ 60”
you can’t read or even remember your own comments. take a block
Unless you want to dedicate your entire play time to farming, you don’t.
My suggestion would be to level super fast at the beginning of a phase and sell everything.
I made a decent chunk from selling enchanting mats at the start of this phase and I was super slow leveling.
I made enough to max out my tailoring and make the epic pattern from the raid.
Wow mista have a copper for the poor
Save up all the scraps you can, cloth, food, anything, put on AH before you log and check first thing when starting your session. It won’t be a ton, but it does add up. Other than that, I personally use questing as a decent income. With such limited time to play, it may be well worth your time (if you find it fun) to strategize how you are going to spend that hour of play, the route you wanna take for quests etc.
Godspeed friend
I did some quests to kill pirates in the booty bay area and lucked out on a blue item that sold for 20g, a 14 slot bag that sold for 15g and a stack of mageweave that i immediately hoarded because its expensive af and i need to level tailoring
Personaly i stand on rode side in my tight armor waitinf for people to cone up to me and you know . Its hard work and a decent living
Im very casual, like i dont even raid. Only way i found to make some gold is with quests.
So lvl an alt paly or lock.
From 1 to 34 questing, and from 34 to 40 lvl only through dungeons. Then at 40 do all your quest lvl 34 and up.
Gathering is too boring for me, i really love questing though
Leveling an alt with the 300% gold from quest / do max lvl quests.
Play the AH/use professions.
Anything outside this is hit and miss/luck dependant.
This is my answer. Last I checked a stack of Mageweave was 4 gold on my server. I can make 3-4 stacks an hour pretty easily. The gray / green items they drop sell very well to a vendor.
Also, if you can get an alt to 40 and do quests at max level they give 2-3g each.
Personally, I am very tired of the gold sinks in the game currently. Raid consumables, profession patterns, etc. I know they need gold sinks in the game for the no-lifers, but as “the little guy” it just feels oppressive. It’s probably only going to get worse in future phases, in which case I may just give up and stop playing.
Spider caverns for white spider meat and mining, turtle scales if skinning. Plenty of gold in an hour. Can be as high as 50, gnoll farm for Mageweave cloth, farm dragons for sacs, ogre farm for high level boes, quite a few ways. Wildvine or whatever farm- have not tried it yet but looks promising.
Most areas for mageweave ive looked at have been plagued with bots
