Hey now how dare you call me a classic Andy lmao jk i could care less. I was just simply saying the game needs to change to be fun for pugs. Pug Raids on retail have degraded into real money sinks and time sinks. People will join just to leave after one wipe. But i get it, when it’s so easy to pug another group. In sod that’s not a thing. This is feed back and how the game will get better. You should try it lol
LOL! ![]()
Sorry bro, just a bit of a stereotype. Play whatever you enjoy ![]()
Also, pugging is a whole different beast. You really need to be picky with the groups you join - or else it’ll be a rage and wipe fest for sure.
I actually like more challenging mechanics, or else I would be bored as all heck. There’s also other difficulties that people can play, unlike in Classic - so I think players that want a challenge should have that option too. But should everyone be able to easily clear harder difficulties? I don’t think so.
I disagree all difficulties should be clearable by even the worse player. Look at it like this i love elden ring and dark souls games they are hard but you can grow and out gear them even the hardest challenge you can beat. Now imagine a game like that but you have 20 people and one person doesn’t dodge or block and we all lose. That is what’s happening in wow right now, it’s over complicated. In MOP my warrior bro was a mythic raider this dude would tank heroic bosses in his dps spec. He had out geared that challenge. There is a balance and wow right now is not fun for pugs it can not be out geared to the point of carries and one person can wipe a raid. It needs reworked. Both things can be true a challenge and fun!
When the game first came out it was a big deal to be able to go from zone to zone without loading screens. The size of the world in WOW was quite impressive for 2004. It still is IMO but I’m old and remember playing The Bards Tale on a Commodore 64.
I believe there would be an old interview somewhere where a Dev said it was a deliberate decision to limit fast travel so players would get a sense of the scope of the game world. The game has changed with the players over the years and most newer zones have quest hubs and easy ways to travel.
Not at all. That guy loses his classic Andy card because he can’t remember that every raid boss was bugged and took as many pulls.
The rewards for getting an item or first mount are so much sweeter in classic. Doesn’t feel like a waste
In retail, it’s like figuring out which of your 47 shoulder pads is best. Wasting time for 1%

I still see grinding apexis crystals in my nightmares ![]()
I’ll be honest, I sort of miss the long trek quest we had. It added depth to the expansive feel the zone had. It was like you actually accomplished something when you finished it. The game seemed more relaxed in pace back then. everything feels like a rush to the finish line now.
Yeah, I remember it well. I had the time and was foolish enough to level a few alts back then too. You couldn’t fly before max level (or real close to it) and had to pay for flying on every character and it was NOT a trivial amount of gold either.
We ran back and forth. Slowly. Over and over. It gave you something to do and helped hide the fact that there wasn’t a ton of stuff to actually do in the game back then. BC was almost vanilla as far as that goes.
I often did as little of that zone as possible while leveling up when it was current content.
They developed better stuff tech wise, the only super bad issue after WoTLK era i recal for servers was WoD due to the bugs with horde garrisons. After that all launches were smooth where i was playing (high pop servers).
But a ton of mmo quests really need to be updated and not be complete trash like they used to be.
flight paths let you skip most of that .
I accepted that back in the day, and did kind of like being able to go do something as your flight path would take 15 minutes. I do appreciate getting around faster now. It’s like we’re at the final seasons of GOT now where travel time is trivial.
But the final (2) seasons were terrible…
No.
Not without restrictions when it can affect the lives of others.
Just because you (general you, not specific you) want to live in an alcohol induced state to be happy shouldnʻt mean that others have to deal with your drunken butt swerving all over the roads.
uhm what just happened here?
That’s how the game was played. Sometimes we got stuck in the rocks trying to sneak around things and had to wait an hour for our hearth to reset to get out.
Dont act all innocent
Im a Belf too… i know your tricks!

While the zone…wasn’t much fun. You need to remember that back then the game had far more of a “living world” to the game and not pretty menu arcade mode we have now.
Back in the day when I played BC, I had a few friends quest with me so clearing the tunnel wasn’t so bad and the tunnel quests gave XP ![]()
You gotta work them legs, man. Leg day every day.
Also be a rogue or cat and you can easily stealth past everything ![]()
