Your comment is showing up as a response to me though only in my notification tray not the actual comment… Whatever I’ll respond as if it is. Troll as desired if I’ve been duped.
A) no idea what petition you mean, i may have signed one about bringing classic back in general, perhaps one about No Changes. So possibly i dunno.
B) as to the implication I’m not a No Changer, keep in mind one can be aware of one’s own preferences while still being aware that others do not share them.
So while id be willing to play a game most others would sign petitions to SHUT DOWN, i also am fully committed to a Classic as Classic as possible; one of the more hardcore actually.
At the HEART of the No Changes movement is a recognition that we all have our own pecadillos and allowances, we’d all like a few small changes here and there; but that allowing ANY of those to be implemented would open the floodgates and justify Retail.
I want what is best for the Classic crowd that has been pushing for the old design for years, because it will satisfy me too, and we deserve it.
It was just a throw away joke that had its meaning totally lost through lack of inflection. Have a like for being cool about it when others might not have been.
No changes at all save possibly bug fixes (running around in loot position for an hour…). I want my paladin to have awful DPS, run oom if I even attempt to tank, and heal worse then a priest, but be a hero for buffing people.
I guess what i was getting at is a full instance retune across the board. Mc bwl etc were not easy mode. Things took more time. They are plenty of people who don’t want to spend hours in mc or scholo, and only care about aq40 and naxx. That wasn’t the vanilla experience.
I doubt the impact would be very big. There are ways around paying for respects. I figure a lot of people would just park their healer until raid night (after they’re geared) and play an alt.
Very dedicated to no change. Things were hard and that’s what people loved. If I wanted different specs I would roll a second Warrior or Hunter. People knew you were dedicated when you took the time to bring something to your groups and guild.
I would die inside if they allowed people to buy tokens from the store. it kills the economy and makes the AH useless. I really wish there was no Bnet friend crap. People tried harder before that was implemented. Your friends list was more meaningful and not used because people were serving hopping. Lets face it…most people that friend you and server hop slowly stop engaging in conversation once they get new friends and a guild. And the last thing I want is friends or Raid Leaders on retail telling me to hop back in while I’m enjoying my blissful Classic content.
Even some of the bugs make things fun, my main account has been buggy and glitched since day one. It has been the talk of many with screen shots and video of the weird stuff I see and have happen. It’s what makes my WoW game play unique and keeps me laughing.
True that. Esp. things that affect only YOUR personal game / character and not others. Like a bigger hunter pet stable! And at least some addons that would improve or help game play (map coordinates).
Only change i would be cool with is updated graphics and a straight backed orc
Also i believe 1.12 was cross realm bgs, i would like that reverted back to same server bgs. I want to know my enemy in bgs and its fun to see your bg rivals out in the open world for pvp as well.
heh, many ppl think that old vanilla had some kind of “set in stone” rules;
let me say:
there was a lot of tweaks and fixes, everyday,
for encounters, for mobstats, for spells and mechanics, for items stats, procs, scaling, drop, etc;
and a lot of things not even listed in patch logs;
sometimes quest stay broken for a long time;
sometimes it was a wrong misleading tooltip to stay for a long time until major patch is out;
sometimes its was hard even to figure out whats happened and why your spell works in other way from yesterday;
sometimes you got understanding that they have changed the encounter … but you already in combat with the boss;
work on fixes never stops and should never stop;
there is a lot of broken things even after TBC come, some of such things goes in its broken state on pservers;
broken items, “unintended” spell work, abuses of all kind;
for example, many known naxx bugs comes from 40ppl naxx to 10/25 naxx: in/out combat bugs and abuses, intentional boss glitches, universal safespots, doors and walls abuses,etc,
ok, most of them was fixed already in WotLK, but still in its forever broken state on pservers, making other ppl think that this is how it was and how it should be in classic
i wonder would they fix it in new classic?
or would they just throw a raw 1.12 data ?(i hope not)
or they would apply critical fixes and updates in warcraft 3 style?
or a deep rethink of mechanics and balance?
Well what changes do you not like? I mean a lot of things they said they were looking at but haven’t confirmed yet. I think most people think they will be in but you never really know with blizzard. I think we have to wait and see. I hope they do a watercooler soon and let us know.
