At the very beginning of DF, public orders had an option to set minimum quality and they disabled it in a hotfix.
Probably they predicted what will happen if they leave option on.
I see people saying they place public orders but either this is so rare as to be seen about as often as a unicorn or crafters use bots to suck them all up immediately. Not sure which but I almost never see any public orders listed no matter what profession I am looking under. If it wasn’t for Patron orders the crafting weekly would be impossible to finish.
No minimum quality made sense when Inspiration was RNG. But now we have Concentration, feels silly to not have the option to request specific ranks or better through public orders.
Because crafting is dead
because most of those end up being done by personal work orders for reasons
its due to asking for a max rank and getting back a lvl 1 rank when you use max rank mats
Public orders are more or less empty at most times because it’s a fairly useless system.
Not the treaties and contracts - they have no quality attached to them
but the others do and the player thats doing the personal order might have a alt or with a deal with someone
Yeah but that needs done, or they just need to commit to an actual mega server. Some games work with individual servers, but those games also changed their systems to help alleviate and or lessen the issue via “realm visits”.
Same here.
there were treatise work orders, back when people needed the knowledge points and there were less inscriptionists ready to snipe the order. Now all the crafters have mostly filled out their trees and more people have inscription. The few crafters still doing treatise orders have their own character with inscription so they just whack in a personal order (or guild if they’re both in the same guild) so you never see it.
Public orders?
people don’t use it much except for perhaps treatises.
It doesn’t allow setting a quality requirement, so people use the chat to find crafters and use personal orders.
