Human form is not an illusion. They’re humans cursed to warp into Worgen. They regained the ability to retain human when they’re calm due to more Druidic magic.
Ngl… I always wished that had some customizable armor pieces for it. Few different helmets and circlets, maybe some pauldrons. Possibly chest piece options.

If anything, the human form is the Druid form since that is controlled by Druidic magic.
In order to be a full-blown druid, you need a connection to the Emerald Dream through a patron of some kind. Night elves and tauren received that patronage during the War of the Ancients from the Wild Gods; trolls gain it from worshiping certain loa; some Kul Tirans have innate druidic magic thanks to their Drust ancestry.
But regular humans don’t have a patron and there’s not really anyone lining up to do the job right at the moment.
Because those were ancient humans and we aren’t. The traditions have long since died off and been forgotten. There’s just not a group you can rock up to as a human and say “yes, can I plz lrn 2 shaman?”
I mean, strictly speaking there is - the Primalists, or the Twilight’s Hammer - but not a trustworthy one.
It’s literally a cursed druid form.
It’s Goldrinn’s blessing of ferocity that druids simply can’t control. That’s like saying Satyrs aren’t a cursed druid form because they received their blessing through the Emerald Nightmare.
Maybe stop relying on an outdated comic book for your sources.

The game states that the Worgen ‘curse’ is Goldrinn’s blessing, and when Wild Gods bless druids with the ability to shape-shift into said animal, it’s a druid form.
The only difference is that the blessing is so potent druids cannot handle it without indirect help.
So. Since the old gods, which are also gods, made the curse of flesh, does that make all gnomes, vrykul, and dwarven forms Druid form? The worgen curse isn’t connected to the emerald dream, and neither is the curse… erm blessing of the old gods

Druid forms can’t be spread by drinking blood or being bit. It’s a curse.

No, because it’s not blessing from a Wild God.
It comes directly from Goldrinn, a Wild God, who is strongest within the Emerald Dream, who also goes to Ardenweald upon death.
It’s a cursed druid form.
Both can be true at the same time.
