Well in that case, I think it’s a hyperbolic and inaccurate statement. I get that it sucks, but we can work on solutions that don’t involve one faction beating up the other. There are so many ways for the Alliance to feel vindicated and empowered again that doesn’t need to rely on the Horde, people are just stubborn about starting the mess of BfA up all over again.
No, we alliance players, specifically NE and Worgen players, want the mess that is Teldrassil to be concluded with a strong, no nonsense win. We’re tired of blizz letting the horde commit their crimes and than sweep them under the rug, because it’s incovient for the next story they want to tell.
And it’s not hyperbolic, I clearly told you that
Let’s restore it. And then let’s go take revenge. Yes. Rebuilding for revenge. Going?
Fight someone other than the Horde? With whom? We do not have portals to the right places, and from the available enemies only the Horde.
The way I see it is that if there’s no villain, then your typical heroic good guy types are basically out of a job. But that functionally isn’t going to happen until Blizzard shuts down WoW, because they’re going to need expansions to sell. So there’s always going to be a villain to fight.
Sometimes they make that villain the horde, though. So you end up in a situation where one half of the game has to nonsensically pull their punches “for the greater good” while the other half has to stop being heroes altogether for a while. It’s kinda like double-reheated food at this point; that stuff gets nasty fast.
Teldrassil gets regrown. All the souls of the dead night elves are freed from the Maw, perhaps some of them become Wisps and help rebuild the old buildings. Ysera comes from the Shadowlands, and alongside the Winter Queen, blesses the new world tree and restores the night elves’ immortality. Maybe Tyrande is pivotal to this regrowth via her NW powers, her NW powers bolster the tree somehow and make it impossible to destroy like that again, gains new control over them or accepts the counsel of her daughter and lets it go, vows to protect what remains of her people and promises that they will regrow. There’s a gorgeous 3D cinematic chock full of great-looking HD night elves coming together, Elune does something flashy with her powers. It’s confirmed that they’ve retaken Ashenvale and secured it for good with the help of the worgen.
There. I’ve given the night elves a resounding success without mentioning the Horde even once. That’s a strong, no-nonsense win. No crime is being swept under the rug. In fact, I’d love if we could see Tyrande’s thoughts, perhaps she’s confronted by Shandris and they have an emotional, flashback-laden conversation about how she’s felt, and we finally see a moment of vulnerability and an acknowledgment of the sheer tragedy of the loss from the victim’s perspective, not the aggressor’s.
Claiming it’s not hyperbole does not make that so. If I say “I’m like ten million feet tall!” and you accuse me of hyperbole even if I deny it, you’d still be correct.
I’ll put it in simpler terms for you than. It was a genuine question. Understand?
And we’re tired of being forced to commit those crimes at all, especially without any reason to do so. Its not the “Horde taking out its aggression against the Alliance”, because we aren’t allowed reasons for that Aggression. We’re attacking the Alliance because the plot demands that we do so to settup future content, not because they are giving us reasons (let alone valid ones) to attack them. In part, because the Alliance can’t ever be allowed to actually do anything that would justify that aggression, or even act on their own laundry list of grievances. Which results in Blizz forcing the Horde to act without motives, and defaulting to really creepy subtextual Good Race/Bad Race themes to do it. Which they literally did with the Gobs in Silithus.
Its why most Horde players discussing with you aren’t arguing that the Horde has it worse. They are arguing both sides have it equally bad, just for different reasons. And that the Horde was punished, just by Blizzard themselves instead of the Alliance. So adding on “Alliance punishments” (no matter how justified) gets a bit problematic. As it would just be adding punishments on top of already ruthless punishments; with no reprieve.
Will the Horde continue to vegetate in the Barrens? No gardens, no aqueducts, dust and dirt everywhere, toxic goblin waste … Hungry, cold and all. Horde - live with constant difficulties (but solve them). And the night elves will feast.
And Azshara! All Azshara is ours! Except for Bilgewater Harbor.
I mean, I’m not denying any of that. I’m just trying to help you guys by giving our side of the story and why most of us are equally frustrated with the story.
Micah, we’ve gotten the Alliance’s side of the story. We understand your grievances. We’ve just also realized that nothing our faction could possibly do will actually amount to redemption or “forgiveness” in the Alliance’s eyes. Its not possible, and that could not be clearer than by simply looking at many of your fellow Alliance posters on this thread. Most of whom are dancing around their true point. They know they cannot mechanically destroy the Horde faction, so they want to sterilize it narratively. Either in the form of eternal penance (out of he way) for the Horde; ensuring the Horde is as submissive or convenient for Alliance stories as possible from now on; or just culling what remains of our character roster in this absurdly Hero driven game.
Which is why we ended up in this sort of topic. With a focus on “Rebuilding” the Horde. We Hordies are fine with Thrall’s getting Sylvie’s head as an olive branch. We’re happy enough helping rescue Alliance souls from the Maw; hell, many of use would be fine with the Alliance beating us up in some big win IF (the big IF) that sort of one sided power fantasy story is used also as a means to build up our horrifically broken roster. But none of that will ever be sufficient, and the Alliance has been very clear on that. Which is why many Horde players have (after 2+ years of being shamed for what Blizz chose to do with our faction) … are just focusing on trying rebuild ourselves. And if “redemption” is a byproduct of that down the road, that’s fine. But its not the goal.
Yeah, sure dude.
again, the kill will be denied and tyrande can´t even make her point, na, its thrall…and jaina…like Nazjatar.
Hmm. Equivalent to justified contempt (against the background of one’s own luxury and poverty of a neighbor) - to a beautiful explosion of many things of a neighbor and the loss of your characters? High from throwing handouts or from an explosion?
@Droité , what are you willing to lose in exchange for characters from HS? True, they come with a Forsaken paladin sister, but oh well. Describe your loss history.
Sigh … and we’d be fine with Tyrande getting the kill, but that seems unlikely. So instead I’d just be happy if Thrall and Jaina capture her alive and bring her back to Tyrande for judgement. We Hordies don’t want to see another Garrosh resolution anymore than you Alliance fans.
How can we when the people that destroyed it in the first place still prance about in daisies with impunity?
No but seriously someone has to address why we should rebuild anything when the Mongol Horde is perfectly ready and set to strike again?
Just like we NE and Worgen fans don’t want thrall kill stealing another major NPC. Let Tyrande have her moment, to show just how dangerous the Night Warrior power is.
(Hope you don’t think I’m picking on you guys or anything, I’m just being more honest with how I feel)
Problem is, I’m not sure who or what Tyrande could kill at this point that would actually impress/satisfy people.
I’m just being honest with how I feel.
I mean, she could mortally wound Zooval in a cinematic or something. That would impress the hell out of me
I would have preferred a Saurfang style cinematic of Tyrande and her NEs plowing into the Horde to retake Ashenvale around the end of BFA but I guess Tyrande solo going against Jailer minions and Sylvanas would do…
I mean watching Tyrande and her NE army plus their worgen allies absolutely wreck the Horde in a cinematic would’ve been awesome too, not gonna lie.
