How can I tell revenge is activated in Battle stance?

You can’t. You have to be in Defensive Stance for it.

Is there an addon or something I could use? I am typically in arms stance but I use a shield, I will like to know I blocked, change to defensive stance, cast revenge and go back to battle stance

WeakAuras, and my MSBT will do it as well.

But why, though? Revenge is purely for threat due to its incredibly low damage, but high threat modifier. It also shares a cooldown with Overpower, so you should never be in a situation where it’s somehow more efficient to use Revenge for damage if you’re beginning this scenario in Battle Stance.

Why would you want to use revenge when you are in battle stance? Just curious, not saying it’s a bad idea.

Revenge is only that weak in Vanilla I assume? I recall in retail it was almost one shotting mobs and that was before the difficulty was eviscerated (MoP I believe).

I want to use revenge because it has a 45% chance of stunt the mob. So one of two uses will stunt the mob. To my disappointment I found out don’t do what I want. For instance, weakauras will only show that revenge is active if I am in defensive stance, which defeats the purpose.

You could set up a weak aura for what ever triggers the proc.

So if you get a big red DODGE across your screen, you know it’s up.

You will learn it. If you stay prot-specd for long enough you’ll find yourself stance dancing into Revenge before you realized it was active.

I don’t remember for Burning Crusade, but it was powerful and scaled well in Wrath of the Lich King. (It also cleaved, and that was thanks to a glyph, iirc. Prot warriors were awesome in that expansion.)

The addon classicspellactivations will make things like overpower and revenge glow when they’re available.

Make a macro:

#showtooltip Revenge(Rank 5)
/cast Defensive Stance
/cast Revenge(Rank 5)

Put it on your bars for battle stance.

I agree with the above that it wasn’t until wrath that revenge was worth using outside of tanking.

You are much better off using overpower than revenge even with the stun unless you are tanking and trying to build up threat.
