Subscriptions require an active and billable method of payment like a Credit or Debit card or something like paypal. For the Blizzard Battle.net Balance you can only purchase blocks of time.
At the moment the only option is for the 60 days of game time, which you can purchase through the Blizzard Store. We do not have a 30 day option available, sorry.

why is it we cant use bnet balance on NA region to buy game time for EU/other regions but you can use bnet balance on NA to buy pet/mount for EU?
If I had to guess, I’d say it’s because you have available EUR balance that it’s going to draw from (can you even have multiple currencies in your wallet? 
).

Added enough to cover the cost of a token when I have time to jump back in, this is the error I get when trying to buy a pet from the EU store with only USD balance available.
Ultimately, you shouldn’t have the option to buy anything from a store with a different currency than what’s in your wallet as I understand it. If you do have the option to buy a pet, I’d say it’s a bug.

/shrug, normally in terms of game time i just buy tokens in game for my NA account an no problem but like a week or 2 weeks ago i was able to buy little ragnaros pet from ingame shop however when it came to screen where you pick what region i selected EU and it deducted the amount from my bnet balance tied to my NA licenses. yet when i convert bnet desktop shop to EU i have no balance at all.
