How big a draw are Dracthyr/Evoker for you?

And this question shouldn’t be misconstrued as “will you make one?” I think 99 percent of us are going to at least create a Dracthyr and try it out.

But are you planning to main one? Are they a big part of the expansion for you?

For my own part, the answer is ‘no’ for a number of reasons:

  1. I already get most of what I might want from a Dracthyr (wings, horns, gliding, DPS) out of a DH.
  2. Even with the ‘he spent a month lifting at the gym’ body added, I still feel like the race looks less like humanoid dragons than geckos with wings.
  3. I don’t like that they can’t be anything but Evokers. I think the Evoker looks semi-interesting for what it is, but it sucks to have an entire race added to WoW without any additional class options. Plus, it robs us of the opportunity to see what kind of ‘flavor’ Dracthyr might bring to, say, druid (as an example, maybe their bear form could be morphing into a full-fledged dragon, or even just a 4-legged Dragonspawn). Even if Evokers can only be Dracthyr (fair), Dracthyr shouldn’t be restricted to Evoker (silly; lazy).

But, again, that’s just my .05 cents. I’ll probably still buy Dragonflight (I think? Still sort of on the fence), but for my part, this is the first new race/class they’ve added that I haven’t been super hyped about.

Zero draw. Negative draw. I think they’re dumb and detract from the game. Not as much as Monk but ya.

While I would have preferred a more muscular, dragonish Dracthyr form for males, that isn’t really the main issue. I think the Visage form is actually unsettling to look at. It’s the stuff of nightmares. And that’s enough to dissuade me from EVER maining it.

I doubt I’ll main one, but I’ve been playing them on the beta and they’re fun.
Once you fully customize one they start to grow on you.

To be honest, I have zero interest. I’ve mained this toon since TBC, I’m not going to switch now. If Elemental is worthless, my subscription is gone.

Not sure. Haven’t really been sold on Evoker.

I never really been into classes that comes from xpacs… dunno why. DK was the most time I invested in but I always stick with the original classes.

I adore the race but Evoker is a snooze fest.

I have a very poor adoption rate of new classes and races. Mostly due to having an existing stable of alts that I have enough of a struggle keeping up with. I’ll probably make a couple, but I doubt I’ll use them that much.

The main draw for playing wow for me is my friends. Dracthyr are a curiosity for me, but not what I log in for. I will make one to see the story though.

It’s the eyes. I wish they had an option that was just “soft glow” like Alexstrasza’s visage model. The cat’s eyes are just… I dunno, they’re hovering in a really bad middle ground between ‘uncanny’ and ‘badly executed.’

Silly how you can only transmog shoulders and belt on the dragon form, the barbershop armor pieces aren’t the best

Playing it on the beta. It’s neat but it’s nothing I’d ever main.

I dont care about dragons at all so i dont want to play one.
The class would have to be the most fun ive ever had for it to be a contender as a main.

But I’ll still check it out.

Meh, not much for me. I don’t like they way the move and they exceed the maximum height requirement for enjoyable play.

Not one single bit.

Its a half finished race being sold to us as if its a totally completed cool thing, while blizzard casually trying to get you to not notice the fact that half your armor does not even show up on your model, so transmog is pointless for half of their armor. Its tied to a half baked class, that has underpowered and or clucky mechanics built into it in an attempt to make something “NEW AND EXCITING!” but failed to realize that most classes are suffering from identity problems, and that these new mechanics are just problems waiting to happen, see the charge up abilities.

No and No… Yes I’ll play one… I’ll add one to my stable of alts… But my main has been my main except for a very short period in WoD where I claim temporary insanity for changing mains. I will play my rogue until I quit. (which might be soon based on dev decisions for DF)

Theyre not my reason for subbing. Just like dks, monks, and dhs, theyre another race/class combo ill try to be proficient at, but not my main.

Theyve got tons of customization and im hoping the playstyle is engaging; however i havent seen anything that stands out so far.

I guess it depends on how my current main seems to fare in df. From beta so far I’ve enjoyed playing a devastation evoker.

Very small… not particularly fond of the look and the class is kinda meh in my head cannon.

Only a draw because it’s something new.
