Played against a few rets @2k mmr tonight. Still scary burst but more killable for sure. I still think they a pretty strong tbh.

This is hilarious because you act like 3’s is balanced

Any class/spec can succeed at 2k. Wait till you play around 2.6k+ and you will feel how underwhelming rets are atm.

ya’ll are crazy if u think ret burst and traits were ok, being able to 100-0 someone in 1/2 a hoj was not ok and arguably one of the most toxic things of 8.0.

Prot pally heals got nerfed pretty hard today tho

Bad sustained and overpowered burst in 8.0 > bad sustained and average burst in 8.1. Hm, I wonder if that’s going to work out well, especially for a highly immobile spec.

the thing is, AM is what made it OP. Even with that build, we did ZERO damage outside of wings. You literally just had to cycle trinkets and defensive for every ret go, which was always on a 1 minute timer. The class is also EXTREMELY immobile
and if you get 100-0’d in HALF a hoj, you’re just bad. The combo required at least 4 GCD. The combo didnt 100-0 on its own, best it did was 85-90% of the targets HP. Mini wings did maybe 60%

Exactly this. We didnt push 3.1k cr because no ret nerfs were announced and then we just get gutted. welp rip r1 i suppose.

yeah dealing 120k damage in 1.5 seconds needed a buff

I mean, I thnk what hes saying is the AM nerf is fine. Nerfing literally EVERYTHING across the board was over kill. We are a class with no real damage mitigation. Our WoGs were our damage mitigation. Now we have nothing.

And yet I got hit with a 75k Chaos bolt today, which one shot me from 60% hp before I could even fathom hitting bubble. Why is Ret having burst that requires 3-4 GCD’s to pull off (assuming no one peels you), even an issue.

I would much rather not have to play a stupid gimmick wings wombo combo spec in the first place. Move some of our damage from finishers back into generators and balance out our sustained. Give us some real options for talents/traits, and for god darn sake give us something to deal with horrible mobility.

You don’t think Locks have to use 3-4 GCDs to hit 75k Chaos bolt? Shards, Infernal, dark soul, conflag, coil then finally casting chaos bolt.

Assuming no one grounds, stuns, incapicitates, kicks, Los it.

Think jus like Enhance, Ret isn’t all doom and gloom

Are TV and DS dealing full damage in PvP? Someone else please test.

I feel sad for my Ret

No. Not even close, highest crit I’ve seen for TV is 91k in PvE, highest I’ve had in PvP is around 35k~

Prot Pally Heals were massively buffed on healing other targets in PvE. The change was Hand of Protector now heals other targets based on their missing HP up to 200% instead of the Paladins.

So this PvE change means any instant heal cast on a low HP target heals them to full instantly for 120k+ So the 40% PvP nerf is to counteract this massive change however their healing is still obviously more effective in saving low HP targets with it being increased by 200%

200% buff > 40% nerf.

Also they added a new trait that increases this heal more directly and it always heals for 200% while wings are up.

So no. Their heals weren’t nerfed they were buffed.

Templar’s Verdict does 33% reduced damage in PvP atm. With the nerfs to Executioner’s Sentence, Wake of Ashes, and all azerite traits for wings Ret’s kill potential is significantly lower. Slap on a healing nerf and our survivability sucks worse than it did before. For some reason a spec that wasn’t very good was nerfed without compensation.
The changes to remove the 2 shot build are good, but now Ret can’t put out much pressure or land kills. Sustain damage needs a buff. Templar’s Verdict needs to do more damage (maybe 15% less damage in PvP) to help with sustain and buff a weak spec.

Yup. We feel like a mediocre pile of trash. Hoping I can figure out a build that doesn’t make me feel like a wet noodle slapping someone’s legs :joy:
