How are you preparing for mop?

So with the rumor that joyous journeys is coming back soon, anyone planning to level a new class for the opening of mop? Or are you waiting for the monk to be released?

Are you waiting for Joyous Journeys or have you already started?

Is there any other way you are preparing for a new expansion?

I’m personally waiting on the monk, and collecting things to make that journey easier, but am interested in what everyone else will be doing in the final days of cata.

Mostly waiting for monk, I have leveled one of each class and their professions too up to a point where I can finish those with dmf. At this point I’m gearing them up a bit with twilight dungeons so they aren’t too bad when going in mop, not sure it’s that useful but it’s still quick to do.

Wow sounds like you’ve done a lot of leveling. I think mop leveling is pretty fast. so monk should be easy.

Yea that’s what I’ve been doing for the last month or so, but to be fair I also had a lot of alts sitting at level 80 that I didn’t level from wotlk because cata doesn’t have as much daily stuff I wanted to do on them. With mop tiller’s farm and profession cds it will be much more powerful to have alts.

I’d be worried about burnout trying to level that many characters. But I do know the guides say that the more alts the better for mop, especially for profession cds.

i have a hunter, mage, DK and warrior i still need to level up, but mostly waiting for monk, otherwise i’m just saving up gold since i already have all the mats needed to level up inscription/engineering/first aid on my monk.

Waiting for Monk. Already had my profession kit prepped a couple of months ago, the only class besides Monk that I haven’t finished leveling yet is an 83 Paladin, the raid group is on break until prepatch, and apparently no one on beta has any interest in testing anything besides raiding, so Cata is now in every sense of the word the Pandaria waiting room

Sounds like you’re ahead of it. So, are you waiting on joyous journeys or just taking it slow?

I think that’s a lot of people. Monk seems to be a very liked and disliked class, I think more people like it though.

I have heard that paladin speeds up quite a bit in mop, maybe it’ll be easier after prepatch.

I’m transfering to Horde in MoP because my server has very little Alliance left, 6 characters, all level 85, each taking the gold transfer cap (50k) and because I’m already over 300k gold it’s kinda killed my want to flip the AH as anything over 300k is “wasted” gold. Those characters cover every profession which is one of my main reason to switch them over, well that and I’ve always told myself that if I ever were to switch I’m switching everything.

Sending over this Mage a Rogue, Warrior, Hunter, Druid and a Death Knight

As for Monk, I’ll level one in pre-patch with my friends as a Brewmaster, with it eventually switching it to either a Windwalker or Mistweaver for level 90 dungeons/raids depending on how the class feels. I already have its profession kits sorted out (Inscription and Engineering) which should take it to either 500 or 525.

I’ve bought a lot of materials… Embersilk Cloth, Volatiles, Chaos Orbs, Pyrium Bars etc. Embersilk because there isn’t a “common” bag in MoP, only the Royal Satchel which uses Imperial Silk (Tailor CD) I have 1,500 bolts and Hypnotic Dust which can make 100 bags.

Truegold will still be wanted for the Vial of the Sands Alchemist mount and Truegold has its CD removed in MoP with it needing Volatile Fire, Water and Air and even the Transmute: Living Elements will have a 2h 30min CD in MoP so I’m planning on using that until I can actually craft Living Steel. Might smash them out in the pre-patch since I have 2 characters with Alchemy.

Truegold will likely also see a spike in usage in the pre-patch for those that want to get into Twilight dungeons quickly on their Monks.

I’ll likely have ~900+ of each volatile by the end of pre-patch (but would probably of used them by then). I say ~900 but each craft of Living Essences gives ~15 volatiles and I have 4869 Volatile Life so prob a lot more than 900.

Chaos Orbs specifically for Illusionary Bags, the second best bag you can craft though you’ll need an absolute **** ton of them. To make 11 (which covers both your inventory bags and your bank bags. It’ll cost you 704 bolts (3520 cloth) and 352 Chaos Orbs. And that’s just to give one character full bags so I’ve kinda abandoned it as it’s not really feasable the orbs should sell well though, have 215 orbs.

JP and VP BoEs specifically leather ones to sell for Monks, Dragonscale Leg Armour as well.

That’s kinda it, oh I’ve also farmed 720 Ghost Mushrooms and Sungrass for Invisibility Potions.

That’s an incredible amount of profession prep. Though that is a good way to earn money at the start of an expansion, you really don’t seem to need the money though.

As far as servers go, I’m kind of hoping they do a server merge, because of all the one sided servers.

There’s pretty much no hope for my server since I’m OCE and OCE only really has one server (Arugal). So really it’s either go to NA and have 200+ ping or have normal ping and play as a mud hutter… Horde are a lot more active so I’m sure it’ll be fine for a while.

Yeah, most of it was just straight up buying it but gold is quite easy to come by in Cataclysm. I don’t GDKP and I have that much when in the start of Cata I went down to ~60k. If you look at your AH every day, specifically trade goods such as ore/bars you can get a feel for what’s good to flip.

Or you can just sell profession stuff.

I have literally nothing to do on WoW atm, I log in post auctions, not even buying to flip anymore and I’m still making a steady like 1-2k a day. No dailies, raid gives ~700g… Yeah anyway I’m starting to ramble.

Not unexpected from a gnome…don’t worry I ramble too.

I can understand wanting to play normally, lag is probably one of the biggest game killers out there. It’s not too bad until the game cheats you out of a victory you should of had, except your ping dropped at the last moment.

Yeah I used to play Lost Ark, Lost Ark doesn’t have OCE servers so things that shouldn’t of hit do… It was quite annoying, one of the reasons why I don’t play.

Completely off topic, what is community council? Your yellow lettering looks kewl!

As far as I’m concerned, mostly players that are hand picked from different communities with the access to a special forum section so they can post constructive feedback which everyone can look at. There were bigger ambitions for it at the start with Q&A with devs but for now that’s mostly it. In short were still just players like everyone else.

Pretty much just waiting for Blizzard to announce what they’re going to do (or not going to do) about server health.

In the meantime I’m only playing one character and getting heirlooms. If I have to, I’ll transfer this one character and level new alts.

Sounds like a plan, hard to know for sure without solid info.

I am preparing for MoP by hanging out with my friends in World of Warcraft.

Well that’s a good way to keep a group together. Makes the beginning a lot more fun.
