How are we gonna know?

What servers the streamers will be on? Are they gonna stream at name reservation? I suppose since there is a gap we have time, but I don’t want to get to level 20 and see someone’s seal clapping army running by.

At least Asmongold said he would start his Classic streamers after he already logged on so you can’t see what server he is on.

I’m sure that’ll last all of 5 minutes.

As they should really. I don’t necessarily like streamers but people not wanting to roll on their server isn’t really their problem but also

:musical_note: How will I know
If he really loves me?
I say a prayer
With every heart beat
I fall in love
Whenever we meet
I’m asking you
What you know about these things :musical_note:

Of course it will only last a few minutes before people start trying to /whisper Asmong’s character in each server. But with layering: who knows if they will even be on the layer Asmong is on.

Classic will be big, but not big enough to hide your streamer name from the population. They will be outed in days, if not hours.

I understand the need for streamers to hide their servers, it’s of course to avoid all the numb-skulls in chat that constantly bother/gank them, but at the same time they need to understand they reap what they sow and it’s unavoidable.

It’s also potential harm to other players because of the THOUSANDS of people they bring to the server and cause havoc. So in my honest opinion, they should just stop with the privacy crap and just out what servers they are on, they lost their right to privacy when they decided to stream to thousands of people in the first place.

My only concern is material, gear, and item inflation due to a popular streamer being on the server.

I agree 100%

In my opinion there should be one server for streamers and a report streamer option with a twitch link input. Blizzard would move them without notice if they are caught steaming on a regular server.

lol why, its not going to matter outside of the top 3 or 4.

You’re right but gotta treat them all equally or they’ll start complaining

The big ones are going to complain anyway. I mean I watched a bit of Asmon, but Sodapoppin and several of the more…abrasive ones? Unwatchable.

There’s a few I may watch, but…why watch when I’ll be playing?

This would be a good idea except that there are thousands of streamers who have tiny, tiny channels - lucky to get up to 5 per day. The problem is in two parts:

  1. The streamer needs to control what gets said and what goes on in their stream from early on, and maintain a strict system of basic rules and enforced consequences, or they will run a greater risk of their followers going off and behaving in ways that are damaging to the game and community. It must be the responsibility of the streamer to do this because the ‘bad actors’ who would otherwise not have a place to congregate will see that streamer’s format as a place for them to gather; and then the problems begin.

  2. There need to be more people actually minding the store to keep the behavior of ‘bad actors’ under control, usually through enforced consequenses - something Blizzard is very poor at doing. They try to rely on algorithms rather than common sense. The result is people get labeled as a problem when they’re not, and the ones who are the problem are missed because they’re clever enough to figure out ways to beat the algorithm.

So Blizzard needs to get a handle on the streamers with large followings. The little guys can be treated like any other player until they’re lucky enough to get big enough to need to be moved to a ‘streamer’ server.

What’s wrong with streamers?

Will they be running around with a Scarlet “S” on their chest too?

If they commit adultery, yes. Oh wait, that is an “A” never mind. ha

S for Streamer  Far worse crime than adultery.

That’s what I’m not completely clear on. Whether you like the personalities of the streamers or not, there are probably more benefits than not with being on the same server as the more popular streamers

They will bring in high populations to servers, which means more people to do group content with (lower wait times for dungeons / BGs), will introduce more raw materials to the market (lower prices due to competition), and Streamers host lots of large community events, that you might not get otherwise
