How are we gonna know?

If I had to guess, the servers with the HIGH / FULL pops will likely have major streamer personalities on it…it won’t be hard to figure out.

If you don’t want to be on a server with a streamer, a safe bet is to pick a Medium / Low pop server

There will be streamers on every realm. Get used to it.

How do you do that on August 13th?

Agreed. There will most likely be way more streamers than there are realms.

But how do I find (and avoid) the big ones!!!2121!!!1!@

I have a backlog of names so don’t worry about those 3 freebies :laughing: I’m not subscribing until after launch and realm statuses are starting to be figured out.

I mean, I’ll have waited with these forums for 120 days by this point! I will be able to hold out for 2 more!

I’m glad no one would ever even think of my names so I have plenty of time to let servers sort themselves out before I even play. :sunglasses:

I made a short script for those of you who need help coming up with a name for Classic:

def nameGen():
    from random import randint as r
    v = 'aeiou'
    ext = ['', 'l%sl' %v[r(0,len(v)-1)] ]
    return 'L%sgo%sl%ss' %(v[r(0,len(v)-1)],ext[r(0,len(ext)-1)],v[r(0,len(v)-1)])

Well good. Go join them. I don’t want to.

They could be a volitile force on a realm, if the streamer has a big enough audience. This could mean good things, like large-scale events being driven more regularly. This could mean bad things, like large-scale griefing or locking zones down, or streamers having their audience target specific players or groups.

But the volatility could impact folks who just want some peace and quiet to play their version of the game.

Only concern I have with streamers is creating a faction imbalance on PvP servers. So mostly I may wait a bit and just check out what servers seem to be shaping up to have a decent balance anyway.

It is their problem. They are creating a server that is going to be packed to the rim with followers. It is a problem they cause by being popular. What is wrong with those of us who want to avoid that? I personally don’t want to be on a server that is over-populated and one specific faction dominant.

I think the answer you’ll find for the targeting / locking down issue can be solved by joining a PvE server. I believe that is the version available for folks who don’t want to be bothered when questing, farming, role playing, raiding, etc.

Even without streamer influence, you’re going to have problems with people / guilds camping and locking down important resources on PvP servers.

If you are interested in PvP servers…nothing moves people to organize like a bad guy / guild with a target on their back. I’ve played lots of MMORPGs, and some of the biggest guilds I’ve seen wouldn’t exist if not for the existence of their rivals

If someone is influencing a large enough following, PVP or PVE won’t matter.

I’m going to not care where streamers are.

Streamers aside this could happen regardles just want to point that out.

Nothing. I will also be trying to avoid big name streamer servers but…

…it’s not their problem.

Streamers most want to avoid will know their server after name reservation and it won’t be too long before we all know after that.

If you are actively seeking to avoid the server say Asmond is on then you’ll be able to but their servers will be more than just who watches them.

Not this pointless bs again.

Stop making these threads.

You only look like a whiney little child.

Imagine actually watching streamers when Classic comes out instead of playing it yourself.

Well, it does matter if it’s PvE or PvP…

Having Asmond’s sperg army on a PvP server means that if you’re on the opposite faction (Horde) and are outside the starter zones…you’re more likely to have your ability to quest, farm and do anything else (outside of an instance) be interrupted because of open PvP rules

If you’re on a PvE server, you might have to fight for mob tags, or resource nodes, but at least you won’t be wasting all your time doing spirit walks back to your dead body all day

Trust me…it won’t be more than a half day before the servers that the big streamers are on will leak, and the server pop in the realm list will quickly indicate where those guys are.

If you REALLY want to make sure that you aren’t on the same server as these guys, you’ll be VERY safe picking a PvE server at a Low pop by end of day 1.
