How are Shadow Priests in pvp?

Are they any good?

Thinking of boosting a SP for a ranged class.

They are good (I’d put them around around A-Tier) in 4.3. You have a few solid 3v3 comps: Shadowplay, Shatterplay (also works with fire mage), and RPD/RPS. They are potent in BGs. They arent as good in duels/1v1s as they were in wotlk, but they’re strong in group play.

They are solid in raids though?

Yeah think they’re about A tier for both PvP and PvE.

Also Disc is one of the best healers in Cata for both as well - if you choose to do that as well.

Does more than 1 SP usually get taken to 25 mans?

Not 100% sure I didn’t play priest back then - I do plan on playing it along with my DK in the rerelease though.

I don’t see why not. Good overall spec with lots of utility. Shouldn’t have problems getting groups if you’re decently skilled + geared. Also helps being ranged and also being able to have a healing offspec.

I’ve liked it in pvp.

Classic has a nicer setup, to me, over retail later on. If later s. Priest tried….this ain’t that one as much, in a good way.

Plus I feel useful in bg throwing out buffs. Adds some added functionality to it.

I am thinking for a change it may be lead off main rdps in cata, not hunter as I’ve done to this point.

Pve I don’t do much beyond bare minimum to make gold. I can’t speak on classic raid viability.

Think of them as a discount warlock. Good, but anything they can do a warlock can do better

Void lore is better imo.

S priest has that. And if legion is reached….your dagger talks to you. I liked her.

But…lock gets the twins in the order hall. Now I am torn.

They do better on boss fights (Single target that survives longer than 30 secs).
There are button mashers and masters like most classes.

You will melt faces as a shadow priest in pvp

I ended up boosting a Mage instead and it’s some of the most fun I’ve had in WoW lol.
