Layer abusers are ruining this game in so many ways.
Well if you have a warlock or paladin, you get your mount for free.
I was thinking the same thing during closed beta…36-40…do the quests, save your coin, limit what you train in, and you should have around 125-150 gold.
My paladin just hit 40 and he had roughly 45g at the time. And that’s after I spent 15g on a frost tiger blade, 5g on an axe for 41 (which I very much look forward to using) and training most of my skills, plus Alchemy and Herbalism to the ~250 range.
If I had saved that whole time I’d have had about enough for a mount, without doing any kind of auction house games or dedicated gold farming. I have tons and tons of herbs in my bags I could sell, too.
I have 7g on my hunter at level 22, I’m leveling a Paladin at the same time, since my pally gets a free mount I can funnel gold from one character to another
Invest in better bags. when you need to grind make you sure you are doing it on mobs with good loot vendor tables.
Since you are a Rogue ALWAYS pickpocket before you open on any humanoid this helps you not only with actual money but you get tons of extra vendor trash and potions which helps you to not buy food I’ve personally never bought food while leveling just spam healing potions and bandaids.
You should’ve went with warlock or paladin, free mount at level 40.
We had that addon in Vanilla… I can’t figure out why people don’t want us to have it in Classic…
I had 88 gold when I hit 40. I borrowed money from two friends and have since paid back my debts 2 levels later. It pays to be social.
If your ok with it sitting on a bank alt, low level crafting mats go for a truckload later on down the road, a stack of copper ore was 1g buyout on my servers AH until BC, people really want to level engineering when they hit cap.
i watched a video of someone explaining how they did it… They were a hunter and basically did zero quests and only farmed from level 30 to 40 on all beasts which they skinned and vendor’d. As soon as they dinged they had 130g (since the creatures also drop greys/whites that vendor good too). I probably will be doing the same soon. But I can see how aggravating this is when you feel you should be in the similar area of gold as someone else.
Some people may have never experienced Vanilla leveling and don’t realize that 30-40 is just as long if not longer than 1-30
I think the money goes up between after 30
side note, im feeding a crappy enchanting addiction… I need to stop if I want to get my mount at 40! lol at least i have 225 cooking and fishing
I had enough for my mount at 40 and now I’m 45 and have 60g again. /shrug
Loot everything and sell, only buy skills you need, don’t buy stuff on auction house, have a gathering profession or just be a mage and aoe farm everything. those are your options.
Get bagspace early, never come home with empty slots, vendor every gray, get any addon that shows which quest reward has a higher value, don’t buy on the AH and try to sell off the AH.
The only things I’ll sell on the AH are blues. I might check prices on the AH but I sell through trade almost exclusively. I might have to go a little lower on price but I avoid the AH cut and sometimes make connections for materials. I’ve been selling silk to the same guy since classic opened.
You know this is something I have largely overlooked. Making stuff and then vendoring it.
Thank you for this tip. I feel stupid for not knowing this lol!
Dungeon running is stupidly profitable in terms of raw gold, we have a guildie whos made around 300 gold and hes not even 50 yet. So find yourself a good clearing group and watching the gold float into your bags.
I got my mount right at 40, first time ever for me lol. I think I got lucky with good rolled green drops with just the right stats. I was able to sell these items for 2-3 times vendor price.
I also only purchased the basic spells. I find questing does give the best gold due to item rewards and silver rewards.
