How are druids feeling going into the war within?

A lot of our survivability is locked behind useless talents depending on Spec, it’s honestly ridiculous, not to mention the mandatory pick of soothe/cyclone regardless if needed or not.

Feline Swiftness requires Rake, Thick Hide requires Ironfur, Instincts of the Claw (a 2 point investment) blocks Oakskin, Incap Roar/Mighty Bash and Well-Honed Instincts.

Skull Bash is blocked by Killer Instincts, not to forget to mention Skull Bash most definitely should work with Fluid Form for QoL and be easier to use on all specs.

I also don’t think any other tree has 2 dead end talent nodes that in all honesty should be baseline.

You essentially waste so many talent points on redundant nodes that literally may have no use for your spec or are very niche/situational to try and get some survivability or to progress the tree.

TLDR, our class tree is a mess that provides zero to no flexibility and literally forces you to pick up useless abilities and passives.

Edit: Going off the OP original comment Druid to me is a

And then as Resto they go and remove Adaptive Swarm and make Moonkin Form Balance only :sob:.

All kinds of whiners about flight form having skyriding. I don’t understand the objection to that change. I like being able to zoom as a bird.

The flying changes are really sad.

I’m used to, and like having flight form for steady and using a dragon for faster travel if needed.
I hope Blizzard makes this possible again.

It’s not about being able to skyride as a bird, it’s that we lose the ability to leverage the quick convenience of flight form if we have skyriding enabled. The instant cast makes it most useful for traveling a relatively short distance quickly, such as when moving to the next mining or herbalism node. If we want to travel a great distance, hopping onto a mount isn’t a significant cost relative to the total travel time. We essentially lost the flexibility that made flight form especially useful.

Maybe it’s because I’m a skinner/leatherworker, but I don’t feel like I’m burdened by waiting the five seconds to switch flying types if I need to skim the surface to pick things up.

Not playing it in pvp.

Fluid form seems half baked because you need both a target and to be near the target in order to shapeshift and NOT get a global cooldown when using your mangle, shred, rake, etc…

This means if you are 1 yard out of melee range in pvp because of a snare, you will need to use bear form to shapeshift before pressing mangle in order to break the snare. But guess what? You will be snared again. So now you need to use cat form to shapeshift before pressing shred in order to break the new snare. See how annoying it gets in pvp having to hit your shapeshift form instead of the attack key each time you shapeshift out of range?

I can’t seem to find a macro around this. Using my old macros lets me continue shapeshifting anytime I want without targets, but the stupid extra global cooldown is there.

So to make a very long story short… I will not be touching feral until this is fixed. And I don’t think it’s something they can easily hotfix. They need to be working on it now before release otherwise you’ll see fewer and fewer ferals in pvp. Feral will still be functional in pvp if you play it the old way with the extra global cooldown, but it will continue being a bit clunky and most players won’t tolerate it.

Unless of course there are new macros I don’t know about yet.

unplayable mess :disappointed_relieved:

Maybe Fluid Form could gain a Skyreach type affect:
“Tiger Palm now has a 10 yard range and dashes you to the target when used.”

… No, that sounds absolutely like too much fun for druids.

Yea, and none of this is mentioned on the beta forums because most of those are PvE focus posts.

So Blizzard is probably not getting the memo. I wish someone would copy/paste what I wrote in the previous message and place it in the druid BLUE response thread on the beta forums.

I don’t PvP much, but I definitely understand how frustrating fluid form would be for PvP. I copied your post over to the druid feedback post in the beta forum. No idea how much Blizzard actually reads those posts, but hopefully something gets through.

:sob: cause I lost moonkin form as a guardian druid.

One of my guardian druids has an entire backstory behind how he uses that form despite not being a balance druid! :frowning:

It was too much fun for Monks too, they removed that ability. Which was my favorite ability in Remix!

Hang on. Did I miss something? Fluid form feels really good.

More abilities should trigger it, skull bash being the big one, but I am very much in love with this talent.

ya

it feels like nothing new because your class has had it all.

its great to be able to deal huge dps and not need a healer, amd to ne an a tier tank while speced into balance and feral

What cha talkin bout my friend?

Well I’m a modest druid enjoyer and I gotta say this prepatch version of boomie is the most boring version of the spec I’ve ever played, if it stays this boring in TWW I’ll convert my druid into a fulltime Bear - which I’m already in the process of doing

Still pretty annoyed about how they’ve handled Keeper of the Grove

Just watched a Supatease video on the state of beta. He is saying that balance is struggling in the defense department and with all our spells having an RNG effect to modify damage, balance is in a rough spot. He is saying that every other class out heals it, and has better options with damage reduction and damage output, even after the buffs we just got. Looks like there needs to be some tuning for balance in that.

IMO: increase the healing for balance druid by 100% and give better modifiers to moonkin form. I.E. more armor for physical damage and a modifier to negate magic damage by 15% or so.

Balance druid healing is abysmal. having to cast 12 Regrowth’s to get to full is not right. Should be 5 or 6. Thus the 100% increase to healing. If Mortal Wounds is applied, that is a significant loss to being able to survive with most classes now having a mortal wounds effect.
Frenzied Regen heals for 32% needs to be buffed as well.
Renewal is the Wish . com version of lay on hands. 30% isnt much and again, with a mortal wounds debuff, its nothing while being hit still.

As for our spells all being effected by modifiers and so much that needs to track, this is just a complete rework at this point.

Swipe, please! Would love that for AoE, and could also solve the range issue.

I’m so happy to hear others have spotted this issue. The Dragonflight hybrid healing change feels horrible. Battle-turning abilities shouldn’t have to be spammed (emergency heals, resource spenders). Frenzied Regen needs to heal faster, and we need passive defensive buffs ASAP. I made a thread and a suggestion in-game with simple +% ideas, and others. We need more feedback to reach the tuning end before the season begins…

It COULD work if ALL habilites trigger fluid form.
