Housing in WOW

I firmly believe you are completely wrong, since that is word for word EXACTLY what happened in WoD with Garrisons (per the mouth of the devs, which is why WoD is missing 2 raid tiers relative to MoP and Legion).

And no, I would rather have 1 more dungeon or raid tier than player housing.

So we want to do something everyone hated in WoD ?

isnt housing already a thing? Theres hearthstone to your inn

Someone must have necro’ed this, but I started reading it anyway, and it made me giggle because I thought to myself, that if Blizzard cared about what was good for an MMO, they wouldn’t do half the stuff they do. So, I don’t really find the point very relevant.

Edited to add: Reading through some of these responses, it’s become clear to me that a lot of people on these forums can’t tell the difference between a Garrison that people stayed in all the time because they had to to farm resources, and player housing, which would make people want to go out in the world to get stuff for their houses. And, to me, it’s extremely bizarre that people aren’t smart enough to tell the difference.

Until they got everything they want for it and then they just sit in their house afk in their own instance not being a part of the game world

Yeah, everyone really interacts a lot in Orgrimmar /s

I mean, it’s not like people are actually talking to each other or doing anything together. They’re just standing there doing their own thing. They might as well be in an instance. Just because you see bodies there doesn’t mean anything meaningful is happening anymore than in an instance where people don’t talk.

No but it makes it feel like there are people playing the game with you still, rather than people chilling in their personal instance and you seeing nobody in org

Blizzard SHOULD add housing, and then make it the biggest pain in the @$$ just to troll the people who wont shut up about housing.

Your mount collection? All stored in housing. Want a new mount? Travel back to your house and get it.

Your toys? Stored in your housing. No more playing with them in raids unless you remembered to bring it with you, and it takes up bag space now.

Same for battle pets.

Need to cook? No more camp fires. Gotta go to your house. Need to make a potion? Can only do it in your house.

No  so far some people don’t. It’s evergreen :evergreen_tree: content that is against WoWs modus operandi of short term systems.

Do I want housing. Yes. It’s not same nor ever will be compared to Garrisons. A short term system that was a lemon :lemon: of an expac. Garrison was a job to build the defense of Draenor and build reps with the locals. Cute little rewards at the vendors.

I always wanted a forsaken home with this character.

Lots of candles

An alchamist lab

And of course there needs to be a summoning circle in the basement.

It’s one of the most demanded features and has been for years, so, yes.

Blizzard even knows it’s in high demand, and want to implement it, but it’s a matter of getting it right.

Anything implemented badly would be hated by people, let alone that Garrison is hardly a player housing system.

It has no material/meaningful customization like other games.

I do. It would give me a goal to work towards.

That’s not how housing works, quite the opposite. Lamo

Me too. I’ve always been a fan of the Forsaken housing. Hands down the best, and that would be what I would choose as well given the opportunity.

Exactly. I mean, there’s no point to just “sitting” in your house. If I ever did that it would be because I was afk, which makes it no different than me “sitting” around in Stormwind or Orgrimmar. There’s no interaction. If anything, I’m annoyed that Blizz has decided we all have to be funneled through Stormwind or Orgrimmar. I will forever be bitter about Undercity.

How is that the opposite? pulls up chair This should be a good one.

Why do you care what other people do in a video game?

Also Yes. I love my medium house in the Lavender Beds and wish I could have Housing here.

We’ve already explained it countless times. In a garrison, we all spent a lot of time inside because that’s where we had to be to get our resources and do a lot of the “work” of the expansion. In player housing, we go outside to get stuff for the house. Stop being obtuse.

And how does that stop you for just sitting in house to que for LFG? Youre the one being obtuse. Your claim is it would do the opposite, but you have yet to support that claim.

So in FFXIV you can craft EVERYTHING for your house. It is empty when you get it, and you decide what to put inside. There are so many options and styles based on the area of the world etc. So if we had that here, and you wanted a Tauren theme, you could make all kinds of Tauren stuff for your house. In order to get those mats to make your Tauren stuff, you must gather - but not like here, where you see the node and go. Some things are harder to get, some require top skills and gear (yes, gear!) which is also crafted. It is WAY deeper than Garrisons and you have to go out into all areas of the world to do this. You cannot just sit on your backside.

How’s that chair feeling? Comfy?
