wowhead stats are wrong and out of date and the vast majority who originally got the green proto no longer play the game but wowhead stats do not reflect this.

They’re both still available. But the Green takes quite a bit of rng and repeatedly dailies to get. The TLPD is more rng to be sure. But from what I can tell, far more people have the TLPD than the Green these days.

WotLK, crater zone, you pick the friendly bear people natives for rep and once a week they give you a egg, it has like a 5% chance to be the dragon mount… iirc

Been a very long time ago I got mine, but if I remember right, it’s eggs in nests in like a furbolg village? and takes a long time it’s in Northrend near the river flight path in Sholazar basin I think.
I just checked, and I’m right. the rep that you have to choose one or the other faction in Sholazar Basin if you pick the nice ones they sell an egg that turns into the dragon or some vendor trash or some pets
only thing i got wrong is that they are fish/frog people not bear people

There’s no way this mount is rare. Not only is its drop rate not terrible but it even shows up on BMAH.

I think the OST for that place is ingrained in my very soul now. It’s legit a spiritual journey.

I’m convinced the Green is way rarer by virtue of the fact that TLPD’s are given away like smarties to groups of 5 multiple times a day, every day of the week thanks to Discord. No way that many people are getting Greens.

Both mounts are rare. I am a long time mount hunters and the Green Proto Drake was an 8/10 on the rare scale while the TLPD was a 10/10 for me.
The green proto drake you can’t start to get until you are exalted with the Oracles. After that you can only buy one egg from them at a time and it hatches once every three days. (It used to be once a week 
) But the drop rate is very low and you can go years without seeing the mount.
The TLPD on the other hand is a bit of an insane challenge. Yes it is a 100% drop rate but that is because the issue is finding the time lost drake, not hoping it will drop. There are 4 spawn locations across the Storm Peaks on if I remember right an 8 hour spawn timer and it shares a spawn timer with another rare mob that will get spawn priory. So 4/5 times you will see the blue dragon rare instead of the TLPD if you see a rare at all as people camp this mount to death even to this day.
Some nice this are you can kill the TLPD in a party of five and still get the mount and like other people have said get it on the BMAH.
