I don’t think it’s useful or accurate to claim that all gaming consumers behave in gratuitously insulting ways, and I think it says nothing about us and everything about you that you’re pulling out tired old canards like “IBM boomer”. If you don’t want to have any reasonable standards placed on your behavior, then just say that. Talk about you. That’s what you know something about. You don’t know anything about the other people behind their own keyboards.

This assumes that the devs even read the forums. We know they don’t. This is more like AA, a place for players to talk to other players going through the same things at them. And yes, I chose AA specifically because of the nature of addiction and wanting to vent out frustrations of trying to overcome that addiction.
We don’t really need you to stick up for Diageo. They’re doing just fine.

I’d like to add here, that people are way too sensitive these days, the devs included. If you are going to operate a business, this is just how consumers act.

I think that implementing this isnt a great idea. I feel like that kind of mentality is how people like Putin handle the media. “We allow you to say what you want as long as it is constructive.” Which is then translated into “anything that is critical is illegal!” Also i seem to remember blizzard trying to put these kind of rules into various discord servers and they got quite a bit of backlash.
If you read a lot of disgruntled posts in a voice that has the energy of “I would like to speak to the manager” it is extremely humerous because then you realize just how many gamers fall into that stereotype.

Meh, it’s a take that’s as ridiculous as the people you criticize, to be honest. Like them, you take the nuclear option. But it’s really not that bad, most of the people are just frustrated, rightfully so I’d say. The few “doomsayers” are a very small minority and aren’t hurting anyone or directly attacking someone in particular, at least from what I’ve seen, so I feel it’s fine to let them burn themselves out.
