I should just give up on my healer now. I can barely complete the non-lost areas just because nothing dies. She hits like a half drowned kitten and I might as well just stand there doing nothing and wait for any mob which puts up a damage reduction shield. There’s just no point even pushing a spell button. It does nothing.

Or just make the coalescing visions currency infinite and we’ll just buy the vessels as we need them?
My shaman does the areas just fine. Cyclotronic and Crucible of Flame plows through bosses and those are the same damage for every healing class. Yes, Shaman has higher throughput than other healers, but the spriest in my guild full cleared stormwind last time it showed up as disc and said it was easier than shadow was for the exact same reason.
I think the changes are good.
But I think it’s pretty poor taste to introduce them so long after the fact.
Plenty of players who have been keeping up with their weekly quest just finished the Rank 11 this week. Next week, it won’t even take 2 weeks to accomplish what players up to this point took 6 to do.
It’s really not okay to go about things like that.
I think the changes are good, but the Dev Teams timing is just really in poor taste.
At this point, I’ll try anything. I’m frustrated to all hell with this as a healer. I do NOT know how to play my healers’ DPS specs and don’t have gear for DPS specs anyhow, so horrific visions have been miserable.
I stopped asking friends for help when I realized I was tanking their attempts by not being able to put out enough DPS to cover my being there…
Though honestly not sure how being able to DPS only once every 2min is really going to help much…
To be fair they wouldn’t be unless they added them to mask runs. In all honesty though when I initially wrote that part I wasn’t thinking about them only dropping from the harder zones, and then when I remembered I didn’t think it worthwhile to change the initial post.
Was changed this (last?) week that groups of 2 that have a healer will be tuned with having a healer in mind.
It’s only really good on bosses which, outside of trade district and old town, you don’t fight more often than two minutes anyway. The average mob in the visions only have like 80k health as a healer tops I am pretty sure so it isn’t like you need a whole lot to kill them. I don’t know how the two priest healers work, but for the others it doesn’t take too many globals to burst that hard.
All good. I think the change is overall good. If you are going for mask pushing you only need to do the two lost zones anyway and I think most routes probably prioritize them early anyway.
I haven’t looked at the “best” strats for them personally, but doing Umbric first so you can lust twice seems pretty smart and Stormwind is fairly open ended so you probably only give up like 10-15 seconds of suboptimal travel to swap old town second with whatever else.
Org might be the bigger “issue” with trying to push masks while guaranteeing your cloak upgrade, but I don’t really know. If anything you “blow” one vessel on dying to 3 Mask Rexxar or whatever, but the increased currency gain will probably offset that at some point down the line and then some.
I am only bringing this up because people here keep posting how the mask runs should drop more pages in order to make it not as punishing to push masks, but I PERSONALLY don’t see a huge issue with it because at the end of the day people are probably going to be swimming with entrances down the line. Moreso after the buffs even if it is only like 50% increased gain from dailies and the minor assault.

I think the timing is intentional to help those left behind and alts which got neglected this patch, to catch up.
I guess you’re playing as Holy then as the Disc priest I know is doing them solo because they’re so easy as a Disc priest.
As Medaax mentioned, they made a balance change to make it easier when one of the players was a healing spec.
Do you DPS when there’s nothing to heal or twiddle your thumbs?
Is there any point in doing mask runs if you aren’t confident in a full clear? To me the costs seem too severe to risk it. 20% more mementos at the potential cost or 1-3 zones of mementos feel like a worse deal.
Seems to me that if the result is a 1k run with 200 from the mask it would instead be more beneficial to do a full clear without a mask.

No, but masks are honestly considerably easier than youd expect them to be, aside from the first one which can be replaced quite easily. 25% ain’t much and a single extra thing like burned bridge can basically be ignored.
Why even bother with vessels at all if they aren’t capped? Just remove them and make him charge (uncapped) coalescing visions instead.
This suggestion is logical. … Which is also the reason they won’t do it.
I only have the first one and solo with Long Night as a Warlock doesn’t seem to appealing to me. As far as I’m aware the other ones are unlocked from completing the different visions with a mask correct?
Completing different areas, not whole runs.
Each mask is tied to a particular lost zone. 4 lost zones, 4 more masks.

I wish they’d remove the cap on the Coalesced Visions and also allow us to stack Vessels; having them taking individual space on the inventory is just obnoxious.
We’re a little over a month into content that’s going to be here for at least 6 more months (and probably closer to 9 or 10), so I’m not sure how this is so long after the fact, we’re barely scratching the surface of this content at this point. I’m glad Blizz is changing it this early on.
The page thing is pretty obviously to help people catch up, rather than for people who have stayed on top of it. And with the number of runs needed for ranks 14 and 15, the coalescing visions change is a help to everyone. Plus it will allow people to practice and experiment with mask runs more in the months ahead.
Do they also stack though which was the biggest problem for some of us.
