Horde retcon [spoiler]

Yeah, I play a lot of Vulpera now. I can say, ‘Gee, glad you ran off that Sylvanas whacko. But, the Alliance burned us so, death to those guys’.

Hey, it’s very hard to find someone who can make a proper sandwich.

If you’re ever in Arlington, check out Dino’s Subs, on Collins between Arkansas and Pioneer. They’ll hook you up.

ETA: It really steams my clams when someone gives me a Word document with that damn “see all changes” thing turned on. Some people love it but it makes my eyes bleed.

Forsaken aren’t evil. Some Forsaken are evil, other’s are not.

Eating a corpse can still be done by a good Forsaken.

The story progresses lmao.

The Forsaken aren’t as shunned anymore. People are used to them by now.

Anduin set up a meeting with living humans and Forsaken in Arathi. They’re not monsters anymore really to a lot of humans.

What?

O.O

Someone didn’t know about how Thrall started the Horde and how the Blackrock Orcs though the current Horde was too “anti-Orc” and a fake Horde.

The Horde from the beginning wasn’t an evil Horde.

Voljin banned cannabilism from his people in the lore.

This has been in the lore since Cata. Where have you been?

World of Warcraft will become World of Softcraft!

Because they… are? They’re not retconning what the Horde was but revising it to reflect what it is. Times change, old man. And so do people.

Lol, my dude i never get mad on a discussion…on an internet fourms

It’s like Blizzard is taking the noble savage aspect of the Horde and dropping the savage part entirely. The appeal of the Horde was that they were metal. Now they’re kiddie pop.

We need Garrosh back ASAP.

garrosh did nothing wrong.
We went from disturbed to hanson

First of all, I’m hardly old.

Second of all, there’s no explanation as to why they are “what is”, to use your words.

The Horde as a collective were never like this before. They were hardly civil. They lived mostly by a “No room for the weak” and “Strength” mentality.

There’s no story progression leading up to the events in Shadowlands where the Forsaken are now protectors of the living. It’s a flipflop of what the Forsaken were before.

Yes, times change, but explain the why behind it. That’s called good writing.

That’s just… the quote. lol

At first, sure. But they’ve been slowly moving away from that hardcore mindset for a while. As far back as MoP, at least, or else most of them would have likely sided with Garrosh. Nazgrim represented that mindset largely, even though he didn’t really agree with everything, he was dutiful to the end.

The events in Before the Storm do exactly that. That was a huge turning point in changing the perceptions of the forsaken by attempting to reunite them with their living relatives that had been torn away from them by Arthas, not the faction war itself.

That was also a key moment in turning many of them away from Sylvanas because of her betrayal. Changed the way many living viewed her too, I’m sure.

I haven’t read anything beyond “The Three Sisters” and “A Good War” so I admit I haven’t read a lot of lore outside of the game. The question I’d like to ask is if these novels and novella are canon. Star Trek and Star Wars novels are considered noncanon, unless they are based on a movie or a show. Are Warcraft novels and novella considered canon by default?

Wow! This dude don’t know anything about BFA. Also, I remembered there’s a quest somewhere in Hillsbrad Foothills, it’s giving you a chance to dig the human out of the dirt or kill them. I am pretty sure mostly everyone chose the latter. This is just one example.

I’m more interested in having a one-on-one chat with the writer who thought it would be “cool” and “edgy” to burn Teldrassil.

Regardless of what faction i play on, that was one of my favorite locations in all of WoW, so i just want to know… what was the motivation behind that for the writers?

Calia is only the leader of the Nelven undead. Not the all of the undead. Last in the storyline Lillian was in the spot of leader, even though she really doesn’t want to be.

Revisionist nature aside, I find it odd and kind of funny how they present each of the races as ‘Protectors of Azeroth’ as if that’s the role of the entire species, rather than just a few standout individuals within.

I believe the Christie Golden books are. I’ve seen several lore content creators treating them as such. At least some of them.

But everyone wants to get along and there not to be faction conflict, so doesn’t this help you carebear’s cause?

So what’s the point of Shadowlands? Is WPvP being removed since UD/Horde are now friends to the living/Alliance? Has Cannibalise been removed? Guess TBCC will actually be Blizzards next big game instead of this junk.

Wanting to collaborate in situations where it makes sense to do so is a farcry from what is displayed in those texts.
