Horde on Moon Guard

Hey y’all, I have a lot of Alliance toons on Moon Guard but I’m curious how the Horde population is for RP, used to be Wyrmrest Accord was the primary Horde RP server but lately I’ve heard it’s died off quite a bit, I’m interested in Horde RP again potentially so wanted to look into how Horde’s RP activity on Moon Guard is now, since Alliance still seems to be pretty populated.

Horde and Alliance on Moon Guard have a… troubled history, to say the very least.

Regardless, to answer your question:
MG Horde is a very different beast to MG Alliance. It’s alive and well, but has guild RP has a firm grasp on the scene. Walk up exists, but in a much more limited capacity than Alliance and contained almost entirely within the ‘Valley of Honor’ and maybe a few select areas of Silvermoon.

If you want to enjoy MG Horde RP, I advise you to get acquainted with a guild and put the effort in to become established there. Most people looking for a more open experience go to WrA for their Horde RP, but it can be found on MG; it’s just not necessarily an experience that everyone vibes with.

boo horde
yay alliance

Doing well on Hordeside! Early access has been a high point and there are a bunch of different places we’re already planning to have events at. I would highly recommend checking out some Horde guilds as that’s where most of the RP is going to be versus in Orgrimmar. Have fun

Pretty much this, and well-said.

No Guild means pretty much no RP, unless you have a dedicated RP Partner.

(Pardon the salt)

My own issue with this was… even if a Guild was run by somebody respectable, chances are they wouldn’t have been able to take my (very much void-affiliated) RP main IC.
So my favorite activity in the game was… not there.
Twas one of a handful of factors in why I quit WoW - aside from a renewed interest thanks to TWW, void shenanigans and all that - went elsewhere.

But hey, OP, there are still a few active Guilds from the looks of it.
Pray look around, and mayhap you shall find one that suits your RP style.

HOOWEE! Yeah, last time this was asked it turned into a bit of a thing. But I’m pleased to say the nail was pretty well hit on the head.

EDIT:

I also hit enter too soon. Nice.

Basically has the right of it. Two different flavors, alive in their own right. What I can do here is help guide some eyes to guilds I know of and threads they have here to set you on the path to getting to know us.

War Wolves - My guild, so I’m biased, but a military warband of Horde patriots who fight the good fight. We accept all Horde races and emphasize on campaigns, combat and military operations… but we also host cultural events such as the orcish Kosh’harg.

Bloodpact Warband - The Bloodpact is another warband who has begun recruiting as well and I’m excited to see where they’ll go. If you want to get in on the ground floor of something new, these folk seem swell and I’d love to see them get the attention they deserve.

Undercity Nexus - Primarily a Forsaken/Undead guild and fantastic people in their own right. They boast a great deal of events such as the Dance of the Dead, Lordaeron Night Market, Eternal Court of Lordaeron and the Church of Ashen Light and the Whispering Pines Tavern. Another great group with a lot cooking all the time… and likely waiting for the day Undercity is updated. I am, too.

Stormtalon Tribe - Another guild devoted exclusively to the Tauren, Taunka and Highmountain people. They do a deep dive of the lore and expand on it to further enrich what is already a really… well… rich culture. War Wolves recently did a campaign with them and it was fun. I always love working with Koha and his crew.

These are guilds that pop into my head immediately, but I’m certain there are others and I implore them to toss their names out!

I also would be remiss if I didn’t give out the thread for the Horde Vanguard, which is a community most of these listed guilds from. It’s a way for us to stay connected and we also run bi-annual conquest style campaigns - which you don’t need to be in a guild to join in on!

The Horde Vanguard

I hope this gives a little direction as to what’s availabe on Horde side and I hope we get to meet you soon in whatever capacity you think you’ll enjoy yourself in!

I will say to this that void and things like that are super niche Horde side especially since Alliance has a race literally devoted to it. In the people I know, I think I’m the most pointed in that direction as someone who plays a religious figure among the Cult of the Forgotten Shadow. When I hosted sermons, they were often a really good place to at least connect with others. If I wasn’t so busy I’d love to host them again.

Maybe I should in the near future given the current story… :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

I can say in what capacity I have that it is most certainly touched on, but usually used as an antagonistic force. But characters who touch on that are rare, but deeply appreciated.

I don’t have much to add on to what’s been said, just want to say I’ve had nothing but positive experiences with Horde MG. The community was open and welcoming when I interacted with them. They really bent over backwards to help me get involved and I’ll always be appreciative of that.

Sanari did a fantastic job of outlining some of the active communities in our little circle over here. With Khaz Algar being a sanctuary city and being very open and accessible I can say with certainty that Undercity Nexus plans on being in the new capital as much as we can.

Though I will have to note, as a previous long-time Horde RPer from the old days, the Oceanic community’s pretty much dried up entirely Hordeside. Oceanic servers have always been more Alliance heavy so its probably just an effect of that, but its something worth noting.

Guilds aren’t gonna help on that side unfortunately

True. The character I made has been a character since WoD, though.

I joked “Blizzard is copying me” whenever they announced Void Elves, and around their launch I was asked quite often “Why aren’t you on Alliance?” to the point where I had to put the answer in my TRP.
I made the joke again when the whole ritual to bring Xal’atath to the forefront - back in BFA - was eerily similar to how my own character was brought over from The Void.

At the start of my RP days, a few people tried to kill my character just for… being void-associated (mainly Shaman, funny enough). Oh how I so wonder how many people would try again if I were to pop back up IC - despite my character being one of the good guys… prolly not very well.

I think it sounds like a good idea, even if it’s to like… advise people on how to not be as affected by the void, self-defense sermons or the like? Possibilities.

The old days were a little different. I started in Cataclysm, myself, but always kind of kept in line with the Cult of the Forgotten Shadow, which never really dealt hard with the void as it seems to do now. I was more into the faith and ‘divine humanity’ concept I focused on and the use of shadow magic were secondary.

A metaphor I often use is the Shadow is the beachhead, while the Void is the drop-off into the ocean. Mariana’s Trench, even. Only the brave go that deep.

As for a sermon, it feels like it would be wise because Sanari can try to calm some fears about the Void, how to combat it spiritually as well as comfort people in the wake of what led us to the Isle of Dorn. Definitely a lot of reason to have one, but I’m a busy little beaver these days. I’ll be sure to make it known if I do one though.

This pretty much sums things up for both factions on both realms which is sad considering that both realms are trying to expand their RP footprints.
