Horde on MG?

I’ve seen a few posts on this, but I wanted to know how active Horde-side MG currently is, and if it would be worth it to make Horde characters here as opposed to WrA.

If you are looking for quick, walkup RP. Horde is not the way to go.

If you want weekly, well crafted and well put together rp events to go to that range from casual to epic. This is where to be. The big events include Tournament of Ages, Dance of the Dead, Warcraft Conquest, and the Kosh’harg to name a few. But those are less frequent. With all sorts of events mixed in.

Without a doubt, the single best place for quick walk-up RP anywhere in the Warcraft setting is MG Alliance. Stormwind is the best place for walk-up rp. WRA has some walk-up rp as well but it is nothing like the scope and scale of the Alliance on MG.

As Tyrinade stated, MG Horde is known for crafted events and structured stories. Big and small, there are various ample rp events, and active rp guilds on MG Horde that are happy to add more players into their community. You can find the majority of them advertised on these forums.

Update: A lot of community rp events are open to lowbies, and in most cases will even do a warlock summon to the event if needed
(if there is a warlock around).

The state of walkup RP on MG-H is dismal indeed. There’s practically no one in the cities for the majority of the week. However, when there are, being the one to initiate is key. You may find mixed results with this method.

Be aware that most events that allow Horde are not entirely Horde-centric.

If one considers themselves truly proactive and eminently patient, you may find success on MG-H.

Yeah, unfortunately not a healthy walk-up scene on MG-H right now. You’d need to join discords or guilds for guaranteed RP. There are, however, people who are trying to work on giving folks reason to RP in VoH again by doing things like bartending in the Tail.

Definitely give it a try. You can unlock most mogs at a low level so you can have a decently fleshed-out character for RP purposes. And if it doesn’t work out then that’s understandable as well :>

The above posters are correct, most RP on MG-H is within guild settings, each with their own fanon, story arc and other things. However you will find a variety of guilds, to fit all sort of RP needs here. Want to play an Undead character? There’s an excellent guild for that. Is your character a little dubious about the armistice? There’s another guild for that. Is your character neutral or lawful oriented and wants peace between the factions, or at least wants to work for the good of all Azeroth? Well, we’ve got a primarily Horde side based Argent Crusade guild for that as well. Is your character loyal to the Horde but willing to give peace a chance? There’s guilds that will fit them as well.

And a number of racial based guilds, as well as mercenary organizations.

Horde is so dead that there are times that nothing is even said in /2 for hours. lol

Not everyone stays in Orgrimmar!

/2 covers more than Orgrimmar. A dead /2 is very telling of activity.

Okay I’m so tired of seeing this said. It’s false. Objectively, it is false.

The Horde Vanguard is quite active with multiple Horde loyal groups that are constantly roleplaying, be it out in the world, be it at scheduled events, long campaigns, or even casual RP, sometimes in Orgrimmar, sometimes somewhere else across Azeroth.

I can’t speak to the Coalition other than there’s plenty of Neutral-Horde types there. And they have their things they do.

Judging the health of RP on walkup RP is like judging the food scene in a town by how many fast food places they have. Just because the most convenient thing isn’t there does not make it non existent or dead.

And who needs /2 when you have custom channels for your communities?

active factions have active /2’s, it’s a surefire way to gauge the activity. An active faction didn’t just get together and all decide to stop using /2. Horde side is barely there, it’s laughable to pretend that it’s active.

You aren’t participating in Hordeside RP, clearly, and it shows.

You’ve never played on an active faction, clearly, and it shows.

Hi MG friends! I would highly encourage you not to engage with this. This individual tried trolling a guild recruitment post on an alt over on WRA (and may have been actioned by the mods based on language they chose to use but don’t quote me on that because I’m not positive). I’ve seen them over on GD as well and don’t have any reason to believe the posts they’re making are in good faith beyond trying to get a rise out of people. I’d say just don’t acknowledge it.

Wait, are you saying this about me?

Edit: Oh I see, nvm

No, this is in regards to the individual stirring the pot above me.

Obvious low-level troll is obvious.

Not necessarily. Some people turn it off so as to not disrupt their RP.

Horde MG has some incredible projects that need more spot light. I havent played there myself but do not think that it is dead because of a single arbitrary false measurement like /2 activity or walk up rp while a troll is looking.

If you want to find the rp, it will be there.
