Horde Merc Mode Sabotage

Even if it was a merc that placed the feast, they arent only trolling alliance but other horde mercs, especially in a 40man. I havent encountered this yet but it sounds like a bug. Report it and hopefully it’ll make its way into the next hotfix.

Merc mode is set up to either benefit the horde so they have a lower queue time or, if they so desire, they can use it to sabotage the Alliance, either by inaction/throwing the game or by things like the fish, which I assume will now catch on.

I don’t understand the logic to that. Why throw the game in favor of the Horde when you’re in Merc mode? You lose, you don’t get any honor.

In all fairness, the only feedback Blizz cares about is PVE. To them, PVP is an unwanted stepchild and that feedback is unwanted and ignored.

I can’t say I don’t blame them. There’s more cheer at a funeral home than the pvp forums. Then we constantly say, “pvp was better during expansion x.” But the forums during that time had you thinking the world was going to end.

Back when WOW was released, PVP was fun to me. I could go bear and kill rogues. Yeah, stuns/fears were stupidly overpowered, but at least I had a chance to fight back.

Now they just layered in so much CC that no one can take a single 5 second stun much less successive stuns/fears, etc.

It just proves that PVP and PVE need to be separate games. I would leave PVE so fast their heads would spin. I’d rather spend time playing against OTHER players in balanced PVP than try to fight unbalanced PVP in a PVE game.

I love the game’s concept, I just think their idea of PVP is DUNG.

I’m not blaming horde merc’s because I can’t prove it but I have heard discussions in epics from self proclaimed horde merc’s stating they like to mess with alliance runs as payback for long waits as horde. Dropping train toys repeatedly before the start of battle as a form of psych warfare, camping large mounts over lock candy dispensers, triggering hero just as the gate drops etc are regular occurrences lately. It could just as easily be maturity challenged alliance players. Either way I just adapt and overcome.

Any Alliance who complains about Horde Mercs ruining their games… Hey I’m all for the removal of this Merc Mode crap. And I will sign any petition to stop it if you all ever get one rolling…

But lets say it happens… and Merc Mode is gone… then when you start losing even more, then don’t come back to renege on the ordeal and try to get it back… because I would bet Thralls Balls that the number of Horde Mercs who are intentionally “ruining” your games don’t compare to the ones who would Merc and try to win… giving you the wins you probably wouldn’t have gotten in the past.

We’re losing abysmally with merc mode. IDK if they remove it, punishment for Blizz making PVP the “hated stepchild” of the game and hopefully more people protest and unsub. I mean, PVP is a very popular aspect of this game. If they want it to live, they better start putting some damn effort into making pvp more fair, fun and rewarding.

Of course, I could poop a diamond before that happens.

I wouldn’t be sweating too hard over a 12% difference when it comes to maintaining balance between both factions in BGs.

However I do think of the downfall of Merc Mode being removed… Horde queues would become even longer. I suppose if they ever did decide to remove it they should offer a free faction change for a week after Merc Mode is gone. That way if anyone who is playing Horde wants to PvP with a lower queue time they have that option to balance out and go Alliance… as much as I hate to say it.
